Television Lost: Season 5

I always assumed that the US, and therefore this thread, would be further into the series than Sky1 and avoided it for fear of spoilers. I'm pleased to find this is not the case.

I'm enjoying Lost a lot more at the moment than in some of the previous few series'. Things are definitely improving.

you might be left with a bitter taste in your mouth come thursday.

Thursday? I tend to watch live on Sky on a Sunday. Is Thursday Internet only for UK?

lost is shown on thursday and many here download it and watch it on the same day.

its shown wednesday nights in the US, but yeah Thursday is the day the downloading starts, so I'd advise you to stay away from this thread on Wed - Sun to avoid being spoiled Pad :)

I'm out this Sunday so an early viewing will be necessary anyway. Hopefully VidaRed's talk of bitter tastes is just pessimism.

as usual watching lost after we win always pleases me double.

5 hrs.

I think possible the greatest irony in Lost is that earlier, whenever "our" guys met Richard Alpert, he always seemed to know something they didn't, while from his perspective, people have been constantly been showing up knowing who he is without him having a clue who they are.

It's like when you see a bad guy/good guy movie, and you actually get to see the bad guy perspective and realize that he's not actually some all knowing superhero, that he wings it just as much as the good guy.

Good episode - felt bad for Dan...very bad infact when you think about it.

Was a good ep but certainly not as good as what I was expecting.

No way have they killed Dan off??? He's one of the most interesting characters!

also young Eloise

Didn't see that coming. Is Dan dead now? :(

They changed the woman who played on-island Eloise which was weird. I know it's 20 years after the hydro bomb where we last saw her but couldn't they have used their make-up magic or something?

Dan's probably dead but we'll see him again.

I don't get his plan though. If he were to stop the incident and erase everything that happened then what exactly would happen? Would the 1970s oceanic six just dissapear or cease to exist? Will the present day six remember all that happened?

Another interesting thing is Richard and co will probably find Dan's journal on him. Maybe this is how Richard knows so much in the future.

That's exactly why it won't happen. I think Dan was wrong.

I also think Dan *POTENTIAL SPOILER* may still be alive, check the page before this one and at the video I posted. That is Faradays voice in the background, he hasn't filmed that with Chang yet.

Scrap that actually. Just read an interview with Cuse and Lindeloff and they said that scene was canon.

which means it is to do with the show isnt it? I thought non-canon was fictional

Not sure, canon or non-canon whichever one.

Basically that was just made for the hardcore fans during the season break. It has nothing to do with the show.

Other interesting points from the episode:

- Widmore did plant that plane there, I always thought so but Widmore said Ben did it and Ben said Widmore did it. Now it's confirmed.
- Daniel and Penny are half brother and sister. Widmore is Faradays dad, and they both knew he would die and still sent him to the island.
- Sawyer and Juliet are fecked. Radzinski can't keep to himself can he. Glad he ends up killing himself in the swan.

Also

- It seems Faraday fecked up his brain, probably the same brain time travel thing that fecked up his girlfriend. (The one Desmond goes to see, who wakes up thinking shes 4 again, etc..)

- Faraday did also end up telling young Charlotte to leave. Which is why I think he is wrong about changing things.

- Charlotte can't eat chocolate before dinner.

how so ??

i think the past cannot be changed but the future can.

right now the losties are doing exactly what they're supposed to do.

this episode was hyped but failed to deliver. the next episode will be twice as good.

Because he said to Eloise "He's my son too" (or something along those lines) then she slapped him and went off in the taxi

i thought he said desmond and penny.

question is why did eloise sacrifice her son and widmore sacrifice his relationship with penny ?

Na, i'm pretty sure he meant Dan as he interupted her as she was saying that she sent hiom to the island even though she knew he was going to *gets interupted*

And im guessing to keep the timeline as it should

That woman who was taking Sayed to Guam - is it me (well, it's not me but you know what I mean), or is she a dead ringer for Ana Lucia?

What makes you think that? Widmore was banished by The Others, not the island itself.

he specifically said the island wont let him come back. he obviously knows eloise and she knows how to get back to the island so why didn't both of them go back.

Oh ok, not sure then. Maybe they've been off island so long they've accepted it's not their place anymore. Or Widmore asked but Eloise said no because she knows they're not supposed to.

I'm also guessing Eloise sent Daniel there because she knows whatever happened, happened. If he doesn't go to the island it won't work because she already shot him when he was younger.

Yeah she must have known because after he got shot he said, "you knew this would happen all along"
