London 2012 - Cycling

I think it's a load of nonsense to be honest. At those speeds it fecking harsh if you got out marginally.

Bullshit decision, she was almost elbowed off the track so when trying to straighten up sneaked into other lane

That is what I thought too, at those speeds any kind of knock is gonna wobble you. Harsh decision.

Mears bumps into Pendleton so she loses her balance and wobbles out of the lane a bit further on then gets relegated, that guys who is making these decisions is taking the rules far too strict. So much for them giving the benefit of the doubt been no sign of it in the way they have relegated some of the cyclists at times.

Aussies throwing their weight around.

Do any of you follow track cycling a lot? This is just a correct and logical decision. She went out of her lane two times, also before she got elbowed and blocked Meares doing so. If she hadn'(t gone out of her lane, Meares would have won that race regardless.
And those pushes/elbow are pretty much allowed in track cycling. As long as it's not too bad.

Of course you then get some idiots who think the officiating is biased towards GB.

Dont know how anyone can say that Pendleton has been relegated twice in the events so far but the judges are being far too strict in the cycling to everyone. They need to look at things for the next championship.

We don't care. It looks harsh, and the pundit think so too.

Fantastic reaction to defeat from Victoria. Lovely too see.

Typical Ausies. Abusing the spirit of the rules. But we did well on the track. Really superb.

Well they particularly the French point to the Hinds decision.

Either way, it's sad for Pendle but going out with a gold and silver isn't too bad at all.

If Chris Boardman thinks its harsh then I roll with him. So be it, she goes out with a Gold & Silver, fantastic career.

Sad for Pendleton.

Great servant to the sport.

Did Mears want tot stop and get off the bike at one point?

No one can really doubt the spirit of our TeamGB competitors. Those that have lost have dealt with it so well.

Emotional as feck! Got shivers going down the spine.

Part of the reason she came out was due to the bumping from Mears so it might have been sticking to the rules but it was very harsh and their benefit of the doubt statement has not been lived up to.

Pendleton's legacy goes beyond the 2 golds and silver she has won. She's been a great servant to British cycling.

But she already went out of her lane once before the bumping, thus blocking Meares. The bumping is more a consequence of Pendleton going out of her lane than the other way around.

Brailsford let rip at the commissaires by all accounts. The second race saw Vic in a tough spot and outdone tactically unfortunately.

How many nations take cycling seriously? I wanna put into context all these golds we keep getting in the sport.

I presume since our major competitors are Australia, US, China, France, Germany, New Zealand and the Netherlands, most of the major ones do. Don't forget either we won our first gold in Cycling in 1992 for the first time in 40 odd years.

Anyway don't look for reasons to put the team down. Just enjoy their success.

What is really encouraging is the changing of the guard and that we'll hopefully be maintaining our strong presence at the top in the years to come.
