With every managerial change comes some instability. This means a lot of the current squad at Liverpool could be tempted with a move. All the more so if that involves joining a club that can promise CL football. It's also highly likely that the owners will be looking to generate cash to pay off Dalglish, buy out the contract of whoever they get to replace him and/or scrape together a decent transfer budget for the new incumbent.

Is there any player in Liverpool's first team squad that one of the CL teams should be looking to sign?

Have to say, I'd take Lucas Leiva.

For how much of a cnut Suarez is, he's a good player. Shelvey also looks promising if your going for more of a long term prospect.

Kelly looks pretty good as well.

They'd have to be an exceptional talent for me to warm to them. Enrique and Lieva would probably be the only ones I'd have but there's better options elsewhere as it stands.

I wouldn't mind Gerrard to replace Fred the Red

Enrique, Agger, Suarez and Lucas would be the only players good enough for a CL team i think. Skrtel at a push.

I think Suarez is the only one the vultures will be out for.

Skrtel/Agger possibly. City have a lack of defensive cover.

Reina could be an option for a foreign CL team in need of a goalkeeper.

Aside from that, there's not a whole lot there to get excited about.

Aquilani still a Liverpool player might be tempting to a few CL sides. If reports are to be believed he wants to stay in Italy.

Although he's had a poor season, Reina would be an obvious one.

The rest are a bunch of useless feckers as evidenced by their league position.

Two years ago I'd have laughed at the idea of Lucas being here, but now I would actually take him. The only player of theirs I would though. However he seems to do a similar job to Carrick. Except, instead of reading the game and making interceptions he seems to actively break play up through tackling more than his anticipation. Sometimes you look in a field and you see a cow and you think it's a better cow than the one you've got in the field.

Oh, possibly Enrique too, but I'd rather we had Paddy than him, and he's too good to be on the bench.

CL is pretty big so you even have teams like PSG or Schalke there, so yes, definitely there are some players who'd be a good catch for CL sides.

Enrique would get into all of them apart from the very top ones, and even there I could see him being a good back-up.

Skrtel and Agger would be good for Milan or something.

Lucas would get into most CL sides.

Glen Johnson perhaps.

Kuyt for a lower tier CL side - Lille or something.

Lucas is the only player from their squad I'd touch.

Everyone else is either

old - Gerrard/Kuyt
Shite - Enrique/Johnson
Injury prone - Agger
Scum - Suarez.

Himself and Carrick with someone a bit more creative ahead of them (Cleverley? Kagawa?) would be a very balanced and effective midfield three IMO.

Enrique is a very good player. Probably Daglish's best signing, though that doesn't say much.

Yeah never thought of it that way really. It seems more like the sort of thing we do for the big European nights rather than a regular formation. As balanced as it may seem, we don't really want that kind of balance at home to Stoke who have no intention of letting us play. It'd certainly be an option though.

taking personalities out of it....

suarez is a fantastic player at times and I think he can produce more if he was managed better, so yeah id take a punt on the cnut

Reina is a decent Keeper, Agger is half decent at the back and I think that Lucas is the only other player capable of performing to a CL level on a consistent basis.

the rest of the Liverpool squad are too old/average or just shite

I thought the thread was about CL clubs not just us?

I've voiced my opinion on them moving to other clubs not us.

For us, I'm not sure. I like Lucas but I think we should be looking for a proper world class midfielder. Enrique is good, but will he, long term, be all that much better than Evra? I'm not so sure.

Suarez is a quality striker, however again, I don't really think we need him. For me, he's too similar to Rooney, who is of course the better player of the two. If we're getting any sort of forward, it would be a more out and out goalscorer to link up with Rooney.

his reputation and character now makes him untouchable but based on football alone surely you would have him?

Before all the crap?

You'd be going back a bit, he's been an utter bastard since he was 15 when he broke a referee's nose for sending him off. On talent pretty much anyone would take him though.

Wouldn't take him even if they paid us.

Reina has always been tempted to leave. I'd guess he could take that chance now depending on who they bring in. However, and unfortunately, with the names they are throwing out as a replacement, Liverpool could do quite well next season.

There are a few good players, and Suarez is one of them. But just because of his character, i would never wan't Suarez with us. He is a good player, but his attitude and character is just not one which our club player should have.
Enrique seems a good player, but he's not really had a very good ending to his season this year. Started decently, but then didn't keep it up. Still if he manages to do good next season, he seems a decent player.
