Liverpool's inevitable q̶u̶a̶d̶r̶u̶p̶l̶e̶ tr̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ dibble/ The Hala Madrid Thread

Villa are 15/1 to win with the bookies and 7/1 to draw, and rightly so. They're going to get easily brushed aside. With KDB rested (he usually looks worse when he plays midweek and then weekends) they'll create loads.

The only hope they'd have is if Villa used the Tottenham framework of sitting back and hitting fast on the counter, West Ham used it too. But I don't think Gerrard has the tactical nous for it, he'll setup with Watkins and Ings and try and play as normal and get torn apart.
Villa also play on Thursday.

No way Villa will get something on Sunday. City will destroy them. Why on Earth do people think Villa can draw/win this game?

Thankfully Villa still can potentially finish 9th, they are currently 14th
That's £10M in prize money to play for
So they need to take tomorrow against Burnley seriously

Getting the feeling City will blow it ….it’s the Gerrard factor
Boys, 5.42/1 for scouse win and city not to win. I’ve just lumped £50 on it - I advise you follow suit if you want free money and compensation for this horrible reality.

What’s our constellation prize if liverpool don’t win the league? City winning it.. fantastic. What a time to be a United fan.
That’s worth a lot. The quad would never beat he’d and would completely shit all over the treble.

Yeah, you’re dreaming.. they are winning the lot. Keep seeing these posts and they inch closer and closer.

City ain't losing to Villa mate. The one thing they never bottle is the league.

Although it's all set up for a perfect Liverpool romantic story with Gerrard, Coutinho and Ings.

They don’t need to lose to Villa. A draw and Lpool are champions.

draw does it.

They will defo bottle it. Can easily see it coming. I’m just gonna ensure it makes me a ton of cash so I have something to console me. It’s been the worst nightmare of a season.

Would like for Liverpool to win the league and if they win all the competitions that would be a great achievement but we're the ones winning the UCL so yeah, a treble would still be a good season for them. :)

City are wobbling along with their central defense pairing injured while Liverpool have the momentum and belief.
Villa will probably get the draw at the weekend.
Have to agree on this I’ve got £10 at 100/1 Quadruple rather lose the bet than Liverpool win the league and Champions league, we expect City to win but there is no guarantee plus I can assure you if the scousers do the quadruple, no English club will ever repeat it!

People need to relax. City are going to beat Villa. Though I do think that Liverpool will beat Madrid.
Those are my thoughts too. People are acting as if City are a point behind rather than a point in front.

City still have Laporte in central defence and maybe they will have some players back. Pep will "put the ball on ice" when city go three nil up and just run the game down. It's their cup final and it's at their home.

United's 99 team will still be the greatest achievement in English football, have no fear people ;)

They don’t need to lose just draw and Liverpool win hands them the PL, I hope I’m wrong but it seems to be written in the stars ⭐

I can live with Liverpool winning the champions league as long as City do their job on Sunday. A treble without the league isn't nearly as lucrative.

What if Liverpool win the league but lose against Madrid in CL final?

How will people feel about a domestic treble for Liverpool?

The closer it gets the more I think Villa will get something at the Etihad. City with so many defenders out, can they handle the pressure? Villa will be up for it big time. Just hope City can do it.

A few weeks ago I would've said Liverpool to win the CL comfortably, now not so sure with fatigue piling up and City dragging the title race on.

Liverpool are winning games by the odd goal but I think Benzema can and will stretch their defence. Not to mention Liverpool's midfield will feel leggy.

Klopp has done a great job managing his squad and pushing the title race to the final day. Yet it's crazy despite all the records broken he could end up with one league title in seven seasons. Mourinho had three in five seasons at Chelsea and Wenger had three in his first eight at Arsenal by contrast.
Been having this conversation with a scouse friend of mine and personally think it's fantastic. This is their time, the team everyone wants to be and beat. Except there's another team, in Manchester no less, that's just the little better and keeps beating them to the league by the narrowest of margins. There's a strong argument that you put this Liverpool team in most other (if not all) periods of the Premier league and they dominate. Just not this one.

Now that sucks.

I fancy City at home against Villa. But given the nerves on the final day, in both games, it's impotent to get the first goal. Can't argue with Liverpool having the momentum but it'll mean nothing if City turn up.

I'm aware of that but the thing is I doubt City will drop any points at home to Villa.

They have never bottled it in the league so you'd expect them to stay strong for this game.....

But.......
Imagine the insane media love-in and fairytale theories if StevieG actually manages a draw. I'd suggest United fans to stay off social media for a week if that happens. The media will be even more nauseating and insufferable. Dear Lord!

City will win the league. It's almost a certainty as they rarely lose. Don't understand why people still think Liverpool will nick it.

City need a win. Although that also has a very high probability

It probably wasn't as cheesy as Origi's goal against Everton, but that header from Matip was as snide as hell, just like Diaz's tame long-range effort that took a deflection and bobbled in.

When added to Konate 'easing players off the ball' (i.e. clumsily pushing them to the ground) in the cup final and Alisson getting away with basically wiping out Lo Celso you do wonder if they will be winning the quadruple no matter what.

No idea why but I can just some massively contentious refereeing decisions this weekend.

Liverpool have nothing to lose - so they will be motivated.

City need a win and that adds pressure and we know that generally pressure can result in teams making mistakes.

At the end of a long season, one slippery mistake is all it takes :)

It does feel like their year in every competition. The way the cards are falling in place and little things going their way is obvious. Then again City tend to win nearly all their home games especially against teams of Villa's level. I can Villa coming out of the blocks with a very high level of intensity. If City can defend decently and open the scoring they should be comfortable. Just need their attack to not have a bad day.

City are going to choke. I can feel it in both ballz, and rarely are both wrong at the same time. Although a team winning the quad is something I will love to see and it being a proper club like Liverpool. I don't mind it at all.

And the fact city are playing a team managed by an ex Liverpool player. He’s going to try and do everything he can to help them isn’t he, really hope they don’t get the first goal or they’ll be a lot of time wasting and cheating going on.

The way people are talking you’d think Liverpool has already won against Wolves.

when City got a big lead
most of the time they can just cruise to the title
when opponent is within reach behind them, they tend to crumble.
City got very weak mentality.
