Liverpool's inevitable q̶u̶a̶d̶r̶u̶p̶l̶e̶ tr̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ dibble/ The Hala Madrid Thread

You'd be okay with winning only one league title in almost a decade of football under Klopp?
Considering who we were up against, nothing much to do about it. And we're only halfway there anyway :)

But for financially doped clubs United would probably have 25+ league titles and Liverpool would have at least 22.

I didn't see Liverpool fans crying about Chelsea or City when they were financially cheating their way to preventing United titles.

Before Klopp took charge Liverpool had won just 1 League Cup and nothing more during the previous 9 seasons (and even more barren trophy spell than they had during the 90s I think), and had only finished in the top 4 once during the previous 6 seasons.

They’ve certainly come along way.

Pre-Klopp, how many times had they even challenged for the title previously during the Premier League era? 3 times tops? And the previous times when they finished 2nd, they failed to finish in the top 4 the next season.

When Klopp was at Dortmund, I wondered how he’d get on at a club where he didn’t have to worry about losing his best players every (or at least most) summer(s). We’re seeing the answer. I wish we were seeing the answer at a club that I like more than Liverpool such as Utd or Arsenal though !

If I were a Liverpool fan, considering they didn't won a PL title for 31 years before that and that after 4 years he has consistently managed to win other important silverware like the CL in 2019 and be able to take the team to at least 2 other CL finals, I guess the answer is Yes.

Yet, it will be important to see how he starts replacing some key players, specially those like Henderson, Thiago, Salah, Mané or Milner for the next 2-3 years.

That's not really the right attitude mate. Imagine SAF had decided there was nothing he could do to stop Abramovic and Mourinho from ruling the prem for decades with their unlimited funds. United wouldn't have won 3 PL titles in succession plus a CL for good measure, that's for sure.

He also managed to steal a couple of titles from City too. It would have been a third but for QPR and that frankly suspicious last-minute capitulation :p

There seems to be some ‘deal with the devil’ about how things are falling for them this season. I really do think that they’ll win the lot. feckers

So obvious they'll have their own Aguero moment in the final minutes on the final day

O ye of little faith

Well luckily it's just my attitude and hopefully not Klopp's :D

I thought 100% the CL was theirs but after watching this Madrid team I simply cannot rule them out. I'd say the favs are still Liverpool but I can see Madrid experience making them win it.

It’s 100% happening, somehow won tonight. Just want it to be over with, but the way it’s gone for them I fully expect the quad to be secured. MAKE IT END.

For me is a win-win situation. If Shitty chokes, that could have a lasting impact on Pep and them, if they don't, Liverpool doesn't win the title. Neither outcome willl make me sad.

Liverpool and Klopp are so lucky, don't be one bit surprised if everything that could go wrong will go wrong for City at home to Villa.

Take no joy in it, but a proper football club and they have a spirit we can only dream of at the minute. Second string out tonight and dug out the win. They're a hundred times the club who will likely beat them to the title and if not for the prospect of a quadruple I actually couldn't care if liverpool win it. They'll win number 20 before we win one again anyway and I'd sooner a proper football rival to a franchise

There's no way City should be not beating Villa at home but given Liverpool's luck this season, you really don't know, do you.

Stevie Me is going to be halfway to Anfield in full kit by the 70th minute if there's even a chance of Villa taking points off City by then.

KDB will ruin their league challenge. Everything is still in City's hands and they're at home. Very confident City will win the league.

Madrid will be a hard game, that one is tougher to call. Can see Liverpool getting the first goal and overwhelming them with their press but you can just never write this Madrid team off.

Bastards just won’t go away. In reality thought, for scum to win the league they need to win their last game whilst hoping City can’t beat Villa at home and overturn a 6 GD deficit.

Edit: Realised any win will do for them if City don’t beat Villa.

Goal difference won’t matter now, mate. If City don’t win, it’s Liverpool’s title. City pissed away their cushion with that penalty miss v West Ham. What a bottling tosser Mahrez is for that.

Getting the feeling City will blow it ….it’s the Gerrard factor

Starting to genuinely fear they'll actually do it. So much for our Treble Record which is about to be plunged into irrelevance as is our record number of league titles

Imagine if it's the 90th minute and City are drawing and Mahrez steps up to take a penalty
