Liverpool 2024-25 | Inevitably winning a..."treble"

I would like to congratulate Liverpool on winning the quadruple!
I would also like rawk thread to be deleted. What is the point of having it?

Just like Gravenberch looked lost in a system and manager that didn't suit him, we'll have the same in our team. Already looking to be the case with Amad, Ugarte.
No one fitted under Ten Hag. He didn’t fit in himself. I can see Gravenberch definitely being useful under the current system.

Make your peace with it being 20-20 next season and hope that Salah fecks off, Arnold goes to Madrid and Van Dickhead shows some age.

Rancid cnuts, the lot of them.

I wonder how Klippy feels, Liverpool winning the league the season after he leaves!

7 points doesn’t sound “it’s Liverpool to lose” yes they have been better than anyone but 7 points in December 14 games played it’s not the hardest thing to catch up

The reason that’s been doing the rounds since Sunday is because teams with a lead like that after this many games typically go on and win it.

The Everton game feels pretty big now. Dropping points again welcomes enthusiasm for Chelsea, Arsenal and City before their games.

Out of the three of them, City closing the gap from 11 points down to 7/6 in two match weeks would be most concerning.

Hoping Slot ditches this Quansah at RB experiment. Him and Gomez were awful on that side of the defence.

They're not losing to Everton

Just seen the ref blew up as Newcastle were two on two in their half, you just have to laugh at this stage.

They can’t just win the trophy can they? It must be the best team that ever graced a football pitch that play the most exciting football and the most entertaining team. That is why I can’t stand the scousers.

They are scraping wins most weeks at the moment yet the media love in is in full swing once again. ‘Best game of the season’ yesterday. Maybe if the correct decisions went against them for once they wouldn’t keep picking up points. Last 2 games I’ve watched they should have conceded 2 clear penalties and Van Dijk was lucky not to be sent off. VAR didn’t even review his shoulder into Gordon.

Darwin Nunez has taken 208 shots in the Premier League for Liverpool as a striker to score only 22 goals. Scholes took 193 shots and scored 107 times.

The greatest defender the World has ever seen conceding 5 goals against Southampton and Newcastle.

They’re in the very fortunate position of having the best player in the league and arguably world football on current form fit and available every game without fail. Availability is a skill in itself. Without him, they’d be much closer to the rest of the top 4 teams. Proper difference maker that Salah fella.

If they had got over the line last night in a tough away game, with another late winner, from that man Salah again, i think that would have been deflating for the chasing pack, even this early, so that even later equaliser is a small shot in the arm.

I have continuously said i want to see them in away games against the top half teams, so happy to see them drop points finally. Had that game on my phone and Newcastle deserved something out the game.

That puts them back at par points wise for the equivalent fixtures this time last season (the City game put them 2 points better off at the weekend there as that was a game they drew last season).

Still favourites though because of that gap, lets see how they do at Everton & Spurs in a couple of weeks, both games they lost last season. I fully expect them to beat Fulham at home in between those games.

Salah though, unbelievable at times. You don't see him for long spells then suddenly bam, bam, and he has a brace. Some player like.

He blew the whistle when the ball was still in Pope's hands or right after it left. By the time the ball was near the halfway line half of our defenders had stopped and were walking towards the referee. But sure, great narrative.

There is no way that Scholes stat can be true?
Of course not, classic case of someone looking at one source without diving into the details. The official PL site indeed has it at 193 but if you look at individual seasons, it seems like they only started tracking this stat since around 2007, so when he was already at the end of his career. Unless he scored 6 goals on 0 shots in the 00/01 season.

For example, ESPN has him taking over 200 shots in three seasons between 2002 and 2005.

Not to say that Scholes wasn't a more efficient shooter than Nunez, mind. But you could say that about a boatload of players, unfortunately.

I can't remember Soton but if you look at yesterday's goals Van Dijk wasn't at fault for any of them.

You know you're an all-time great when any time you concede a few goals, people rush to criticize you as soon as possible because they don't often get the chance to.

I am legitimately curious to see how they’d weather a long term injury to either Salah or Gravenberch.

Same could be said for every team in the league.

How does City do without Rodri (and KDB): quite shit
How did Arsenal do without Odegaard? quite shit
How would Chelsea do without Palmer? Very likely quite shit

Like another poster said, the best ability is availability.

Ehhh. We would of course not look as good without Palmer but he isn’t completely carrying us like he was last season. If we lost him for a stretch of say 5 PL matches I think we’d be perfectly fine. I’ll admit that I haven’t closely watched you guys this season but all the talk I see nonstop is that Salah is almost single-handedly carrying your attack. I think losing him would be more devastating for you than Palmer would be for us, no?

The better the player, the more significant his loss yeah. Not sure how we'd cope without Salah but safe to say we would've lost a game like yesterday without him indeed.

I wonder if Klopp will get invited on the bus when they do their trophy parade? He never got a chance to lift the PL in front of the fans last time around. Surprised they haven't already booked the date & route tbh.

Absolute flop at this point.
How long is konate out for?
A few weeks. Maybe end of December or the beginning of January. Gomez is fine with Trent next to him. With Quansah at RB it was a whole other story.

Konate has been every bit as good as VVD whenever I’ve watched Liverpool this season.

A few more trophies to move into that category, which is reserved for the likes of Baresi, Beckenbauer et al. He’s quite comfortably in the next tier though, somewhere near the top of it.

It is Liverpools to lose not sound. With their luck and consistency plus Man City not their main challenger makes even more favourable for them.

Man City is still their main challenger. If Liverpool have another couple of draws or a loss before new years, they'll smell blood and go after it like old times.

Liverpool leading by so much so early smacks of "Oops this team scored too early against City".

7 points in December means feck all really. If Liverpool somehow lose Salah for a few games they're fecked.

If the game goes ahead I feel like we have a good chance of a draw. You only have 2 wins in the last 10 at Goodison.
