It must be though coming second with the season they just had losing only one game, so there's nothing much to complain about it and recognize City was just marginally better than them. Still I like a lot more their style rather than City and they have already delivered so much to me by eliminating Barcelona in such an embarrassing fashion so it would be cool if they manage to win the UCL, so hope they can keep spirit up despite coming second in the league.

It is funny that they lost the league with 97 points, but I'm finding it kinda hard to properly have a giggle because the likelihood is they still end up as European champions, in which case they're hardly likely to be that upset about the league for long.
Had they gone out to Barca as well as lost the league, the mocking could be relentless.
That said, if somehow they do lose to us, I don't think I will ever stop laughing.

And if they lose a CL final to Spurs, it will haunt them for decades. The football gods are saving the best for last this year.

It's kind of incredible that they didn't win the title despite the astonishing amount of dodgy calls and late fluke goals they've enjoyed throughout the season. I suppose they spent what remained of their luck on getting to play a CL final against Spurs, which is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. If they don't win that, one will certainly have to wonder what it takes for them to win trophies. It's like things keep turning out in their favour and they keep slipping in the end, but surely they'll get the better of Spurs. It's a relief that they didn't get to win the league, at least. Not that they weren't good enough to do have done it, but with the sheer number of lucky results and draws they've had, it would be all the more annoying if they did.

Yes, them winning the CL would be awful but the league was their bigger prize. At the end of the day, 6 times, 5 times not much of a difference once the euphoria dies down as opposed to ending a 30 year drought.

Make no mistake about it, they are shitting bricks about this final. They’d have preferred Ajax every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Spurs have the players, manager and system to suffocate their bum-rush style and Liverpool have no plan B so it’ll be very interesting to see how Klopp’s men cope.

New training ground facilities should be completed in the next 12 months.

Said it after their match at OT, that they really should have gone for the win with three of our starting XI getting injuries and Rashford being half fit throughout. Ultimately that was the difference as City would've demolished us.
We do have plan B, C, D. We went to 4-4-2 in the last 25 minutes to stop Wolves doubling up on the wings.
Wolves were motivated, but we are too good, even in second gear. It wasn't our finest game, but we know we can step up a gear when we need to.
We have three weeks to prepare for the final, just like Spurs.
We already have CL final experience, Spurs don't.
I do expect Spurs to give us a hard time, though, they are a good side.
Too many people are writing Spurs off. They have absolutely nothing to lose and unlike Liverpool, don't have the bittersweet disappointment of 97 points and no title hanging over them. No more "Bottleham" jokes since they beat City and Ajax over two legs without bottling anything as well.
You're such a WUM. If you saw more than 5 minutes of our game you'd know that we were disinterested as feck after City took the lead, and even then they barely troubled us. But yeah let's compare it to a CL final to an opponent that actually didn't even manage to win their own game last night against a team inferior to Wolves.
For the last 20 years they have mounted a challenge roughly every 5 years only to fall short and end up outside the top 4 the following season. The combination of VAR, the increased pressure and the frantic playstyle of Klopp makes me think next year will stay true to form. I think they'll be a good 10 points lower by May.

All depends on how you prefer to 'shit your bricks' I suppose. Do you: A - Prefer to shit them knowing you've got a place in the final of the biggest club competition in the world, where you face one of your main rivals from the PL, knowing very well the stakes are high, & it'll be an extremely tough match. Or : B - Shit them because your own club is in such a steep decline that the thought of your most hated rival winning the biggest club competition in the world gives you so many sleepless nights that you'd even take a team that you've mocked & ridiculed (Spurs) for years win it. Even though they've spent considerably less money than you, & who's club are considerably better run than yours. Me personally, I'd go for option A. I'm sure most Spurs fans would too. I can't ask you what your choice is because you only really have option B.

This isn't really how football works. You can have a hard time against a mid-table team then steamroller a top class side the next week.
Yesterday was a weird game for Liverpool, they got the result. Wolves are very hard to play against, we lost to them 3-1 at Wembley.
We will cause them problems, no doubt. It won't be a stroll in the park for Liverpool. But they can rip us to bits down to the flanks with TAA/Robertson and Mane/Salah.

Of course we make a big noise about our achievements in the 70's & 80's. You would too if you supported a team that was dominant at home & in Europe. Us failing to win the league by one point, or going a long time without winning the league doesn't change that. I merely pointed out that we're not the only big club to have had a long, barren, spell between title wins.

I don’t think it’s going to be a straightforward win for Pool. I can see Spurs giving a challenge but saying that Pool just have that extra quality in their team. For me whoever is out the traps 1st & is more physical will win.
