City were simply the better team throughout the campaign. fair play to them.
Heartbroken but it feels much better than 13/14 though. 3 quality additions in the summer and our squad would be as good as anyone's. Hopefully next season we'll be right up there challenging city, along with spurs perhaps.
Oh and before that, we'll go for the sixth.

Given Guardiola's team selection in the 1st leg vs Spurs, it's not clear that they wanted the CL more tnan the PL. He rested KDB and Bernardo in that game. Obviously, they were desperate to win the league too.

I find it hard to believe that City's owners wouldn't rather have the prestige of becoming European champions over PL champions. Given the choice I imagine most Liverpool fans would have opted for the Premier League this year, but that's because we've gone 30 years now without being able to proclaim ourselves as the best in England. But make no mistake, for most clubs, & players, the opportunity to win the Champions League would probably come first in their eyes. It's the biggest club competition in the world, & elevates a club far greater than winning their own domestic league would.
The owners would prefer the CL but I'm talking about the manager and I doubt the owners tell him what to do.
Fact is they rested players against Spurs away but not against Palace away where Guardiola played his strongest team.
The use of KdB can't be really used to judge this, he never made it back to full capacity after starting his marathon of injuries this season.

If you don’t like this forum and how it’s run you should go find a United forum that doesn’t accept rival fans posting.
Why don’t you have an issue with the City fans who post here, or the Arsenal fans, or the Chelsea fans? You make it sound like your issue is with rival fans posting but never complain about any of them.

14 wins in a row for them.. We did all we could, but it just wasn't enough to beat them. Not much else to do than take our hats off to this fantastic City team. Hopefully we can hold on to our players and add a few, and give it another go next season.

I don't like hypocritical Liverpool fans who act in a saintly manner especially tonight when we have to congratulate them for winning the league.
I just want to enjoy myself with my United friends and laugh at the 97 points PL winning team but you just want to intrude and spoil the party.
They had a game in hand and we we're going to Etihad, but you knew that. Anyway.. We had a great run-in and gave it our best shot, but theirs were simply better and in the end they won because they were the best team. Not much we can do about it than to push on and see where it takes us.
Of course he spent a lot but it's easy to waste that sort of money as well

Your club has a history of long spells between title wins. Something like 30 years & 26 years if I'm not mistaken. Strange how it only ever gets mentioned now because we've gone so long without winning it.

Liverpool fans never shut up about it in the 70s and 80s which makes every failed scouse title challenge all the more enjoyable .
A phenomenal season by us. Young team and squad. Champions League final to come. Fantastic work by Klopp since he took charge in Oct 2015. For confidence sake it is important we win the Champions League Final. But que sera sera!
