Well many thought we’d crack after losing twice in a row against City and in the Cup to Wolves

Bounced back and won both games in the premier league since

Wasn’t pretty mind

But it’s back to winning

How fortunate were Liverpool yesterday again Palace. Rubbish keeper, deflected goals and 4th was offside.
That is what champions are made of...

Liverpool supporters are talking about winning the premier league but they are not seeing what is going to come. They won because of penalty against Brighton and against Palace they were lucky. A big slip up for Liverpool is coming soon.

Keita and Henderson were atrocious today. They missed Wijnaldum in the midfield today. I'll take the 3 points and be glad to be done with Palace for the year!
Henderson played well for once

Actually it’s mainly other fans talking about us winning the league

Last week it was, Liverpool have good Fixtures against Brighton and Crystal Palace. After beating them, which they should, now it's they were tricky fixtures and Liverpool played well to win.

Next 3 fixtures which are Leicester , Westham and Bournemouth, everyone is saying they are easy fixtures, but after they beat them, it will be Liverpool have come through a potential banana skin.

My point is, every game will be tough when it comes to the title run in. No more easy games.

Sick of all the Dippers on here down-playing there Premier League chances.
Inside they're as cocky as feck that this is their year, but will never admit it on here.
It's all so that if they balls it up (again) they can try to save face.

Not down playing it

Our “chances” of being premier league champions is incredibly high

There are just 2 teams in it, Us and City, who are currently 7 points behind

Hope this makes you feel less sick :D

I actually do think they're being honest because their title rival is City who have better players, a better squad and a manager that knows how to deal with the dross teams better than every other manager in the world. They know they'd probably need to get over 100 points to win the title (and even then City could mathematically still outdo them, which isn't completely unrealistic). They know they've been overperforming, this squad just isn't that of a 100+ points team. Pretty sure if they were in this position anywhere other than this and last year, they'd be flaunting around a lot more.

Yep. Thanks for that.

That Palace game is the sort they normally drop points in.

At least we are decent again. Because itd of been awful if Jose was still here when they win it.

If City don't win today, I reckon they won't catch them. Them closing the gap on our Prem wins might give us a kick up the arse.

It’s their year as all the stars are aligning to help the them.

Even when a team manages to score 3 at Anfield the opposition keeper decides to have an absolute stinker and even tip the ball into his own net. You can’t make it up.

Lucky deflections and bounces falling to their players regularly. Luck is just with them right now. A bit like city last year.

If Liverpool win the league over a 38 games season, pure luck will have noting to do with it.

Is it lucky that Salah didn’t score against City, but for a millimetre?

UTD were ‘lucky’ all of the time, until people started to wake up and realise it wasn’t luck, it was pressure, and eventually the pressure caused teams to crumble, tire and concede.

Liverpool are doing the same, except some see it differently, through their club biased glasses.

You don’t win over 20 games this stage of the season, and have the best defence in the league through just luck.

Every team, in every era has a bit of luck, just look at 1999.

It’s called having respect for the opposition. This City side is incredible and won the league with 100 points last season.

We could get 97 points and it still might not be enough.

So no, I’m not feeling cocky inside at all.

If they win the league, I am always going to refer to it as lucky just because I know it will annoy them.

I don't mind it called lucky, cheated, undeserving. I just want to hear it called number 19. :(

To be fair, if Liverpool win the league, I don’t think fans will care. I know I won’t.

City might well have the better squad on paper but that isn't the question atm is it?

Also last season's points & goals don't count for anything this time out?

And we can't count on the luck changing either - although it had better do a little bit, otherwise this is already over.

I still go at least 60-40 in LFC's favour but injuries to key players & fixture chaos (who do you think that will help?) are still the key items most likely to affect the outcome.

Or Lovren & Moreno.

I hope City get ripped to shreds in the media for failing once again to retain the league. Sadly think everyone will be too busy crying tears of joy over Liverpool.

We scrap 1 goal leads in games where City thrash teams 3-0 and higher. This is the main reason why I personally consider our chances as low. Those wins on the edge are not sustainable over the long period, which means we'll lose points.

Did you see City's match today? First goal was a deflection, second goal,Sane was offside.. but you wont call them lucky ,will you?

Another way of looking at it is that our defensive resilience in these tight games is the difference that has put us ahead of city. They've found it more difficult to win games when not playing well. We haven't.

City have conceded fewer goals in away games and big games than you lot. Maybe you have been luckier, not more resilient.

Yet another way of looking at is that you've been incredibly lucky to avoid injuries to key players, especially considering how weak your squad is. I think it's weaker than ours on the whole. Opposition goalkeepers having a mare on multiple occasions this season also helps.

Let's be honest, the only way Liverpool could win the league this year was through good fortune and City good through an odd losing streak. They certainly were not so kind last year when United was chasing them.

This is very early to make "we're much better despite all results and performances to the contrary" review. It's not even may yet, ffs.

Perez is on the hunt for a new manager as we speak and Klopp is very likely a strong candidate for the role.

Joining Real is a calling. Klopp won't turn it down should they come in for him this summer.

You wish.:smirk:

It's difficult to assess this season as a whole since half it was played under a manager who had completely lost the plot. Who knows where we would be now had Ole been in charge from the start.

United have a far deeper squad than Liverpool. If you win the league it would have been done with the weakest squad in living memory. How you have been so fortunate with injuries this year is anyone's guess.

I think you're an injury or two to key personnel away from capitulation. Just an opinion.

.

Their squad is much better than Leicester's.
