People here really want Real Madrid to sign all of our opposition's best players. People want to see Real line up next season with Salah-Firminio-Hazard playing behind Kane.

Sure, but you already have Keita on the bench, wasn't he meant to come in to midfield? Fabinho too. You've just invested heavily in that area, going forward wouldn't you want to go with a Fabinho/Keita/Wijnaldum midfield, if all develop as expected when they arrived at the club? Maybe if you also moved out Henderson/Milner you could bring in more competition.

It is, but then we've also got a very cheap starting XI and I'm still aware that we'd never be able to replace Kane. That kind of player (one of the best in the league) is so hard to replace unless you strike seriously lucky, and can take a team to another level, and IMO that is what Salah does for you. More depth in other positions might add some more points across a season, but not as many as having somebody as dangerous and feared as Salah in the side. You would probably bring in an exciting, talented young player who would do well, but Salah is your star player, the Hazard or Kane of your team.

Yeah and I'm sure long term you'd bounce back from losing Salah too, but it would definitely set you back IMO. Agreed that Coutinho wasn't on the same level, I think you completely ripped Barcelona off with that transfer fee and were able to move on comfortably from him because you already had Salah come in that summer. You also had some serious, obvious weaknesses in the backline that you were able to fix with that money.

Agreed it'd set us back some, but I just think the severity of some posts was a bit OTT.

Here's a question: Did United fully recover from the CR7 sale? 3 leagues in a row before his departure. They won the CL the year before he left, and the year he left was almost just as spectacular. Once he'd gone, they came 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st (and then SAF left).

I've held off from making this comparison, as United were a borderline unstoppable winning machine with SAF in charge, and the retirement of him was no doubt a bigger influence on the downturn than CR7 leaving - But there was still 4 seasons of him in charge with no Ronaldo.

Not just that. I'd love Jose to manage them too.

TAA contract extended as well. Almost all of out starting 14-15 are tied down long term.

What would you guys choose :

A. Man United finish 5th, Win the Champions League(beating City in the semis) && Pool win the title and the FA cup
B. Man United finish 4th, Win FA Cup, loss to PSG && Pool loose title on final game, loose CL final to PSG
A obviously, United winning the CL will completely overshadow their title.

From a Liverpool fan perspective I would take A all day long too. Puts you worryingly close to our Fowler Fingers but we're desperate for a league title. As for shadow you wouldn't hear the end of The Return Of LFC all year long.

Neither of us winning is likely to happen though. :(

all our regulars have now signed 5 year contracts in the past 13 months except Milner and Lovren.

You think that despite the fact that we’ve not dropped points to anyone outside the top six this season?

Also prior to City away we were playing fairly well. Old Trafford is where I think we might drop points next.

City weren't dropping points until they did. It's nonsensical to predict Liverpool to not drop points against minnows for the rest of the season. Do you think you'll break 100 points this season then? Because that's the implication of beating everyone one outside the top 6, a minimum of 96 points with a potential for 105 points depending on big games.

I think we’ll drop points at Old Trafford and at home to Chelsea & Spurs. The Merseyside Derby might be a draw as well.

I’m hoping we’ll be ok in the rest, with maybe a draw or two thrown in. It’s not unreasonable to expect us to win our next four before we play you.

Please, don't jinx it!

Hope Palace can hold on.

When they win today, it'll be seen as a performance of champions.

Both of those goals may have happened fortunately but came from a period of extreme pressure. That's how you make your luck. Started the half like it was inevitable. Teams have to work so hard to keep us out and get in front and even harder to keep that lead.

Make sure you clean up after yourself.

10 day break now!!!! Yeahhh baby!! Relax in the Dubai spas and come back fresh! :D:cool:

We better deal with it.its written in the stars when they manage to avoid crystanbul.

Their fixtures aren't that bad but the games against United and Everton will be key. City are still in all 4 comps aren't they? :nervous:

Nerves looks to be sinking in.
I wouldn't want a break, keep the games coming and get it out of your system

Chelsea's goal conceded recorded may never be broken. It really takes one match like this to completely ruin Liverpool's chances at it.

We should have our first choice defence back in the next match. We've been missing Gomez and Trent and look a lot more solid with them in place.

Gave Milner a torrid time didn’t he? TAA, Gomez, Lovren and Wijnaldum should all be back by the time we next play.

Absolutely rinsed Milner all game long. Even when we were doubling up on him he was having lots of success. Definitely one of the most dangerous players we've come up against all season. If a non-extortionate price could be negotiated, I'd be all for it.

The games we most likely to drop points are Leicester (A),West Ham (A), United (A),Everton (A).
Also could drop points at one of these 2 games at home Chelsea or Spurs.

If Salah gets 3 game ban for diving they will say that whole world is against them. But guy is doing it game after game after game
