Lemar to replace Coutinho, Keita to replace Can next summer. By my calculations, that's still only 1 Salah of improvement to the squad.
Lemar and Keita are good signings but you're right, squads win the big trophies not first 11s.

City look most likely to accomplish that, but there's still the small obstacle of Madrid to overcome for English teams.
Yeah agreed... But on one hand we need squad depth, and on the other hand people always give the "I don't think he'd come to be a squad player and he won't start for you" argument, so it'll be difficult for sure.

Well, this is depressing. A day after ripping Arsenal a new arsehole they spunk another 60m+ on another attack minded player. feck me. They could actually win the league.
Conceding 3 against Watford and barely getting by Palace who should have scored themselves. Hardly that convincing. Beating a shambolic Arsenal team is nothing new and hardly anything to be worried about. Everyone knows they're good against the better sides. That's not their problem.
He´d be great for squad depth, but for him he simply needs to play regularly to develop. Unless he´s significantly better than Wijnaldum/Can/Henderson there is little incentive to play him. Being a stopgap solution would be a horrible choice for him, unless Klopp thinks he can turn Sanches into a central defender. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Keita isn't coming this summer though.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself here. As far as I know, nothing is confirmed yet, and even if we sign both of them, our defence is still a mess. Lovren, Klavan and Matip won't win the league unless they improve quite a bit. At least Lovren and Klavan anyways.
No need for the bed wetting, there are at least 3 better teams than them this season. The Arsenal win papers over some cracks but Chelsea are the strongest team in the division.

Think one thing is clear they will challenge this year if they get VVD also . If they do get Lemar well then they will have a seriously good First 11. Think we might finally have to take them seriosly as league contenders if rumours of them signing VVD and Lemar are true.

I'll be happy with top 4. We need to consolidate champions league football. Utd are looking much better than last year so I expect you to finish top 4 (maybe even win it). That means it will be harder than last year to finish top 4 - and we have European football this season to cope with as well.
At least this season 4th place automatically qualifies for group stage so no more August qualifying round.

Attacking wise, Liverpool looked frighteningly good against Arsenal. Sadio Mane looks like a top player for them, and Salah looks like he is going to fulfill his potential under Klopp. Hoping that they do get Lemar this summer as I believe they are a couple of players away from challenging for the title.

As I said previously, I can't imagine us winning the league. Our defence and keepers aren't good enough.

Think people are getting carried away with the Keita and potential Lemar signing. They may challenge but history shows titles are won with a solid CB partnership, which they simply don't have. No point stock piling with players that can score goals, if you can't stop conceding them either. Until they sort their defence out they'll be top 4 contenders at best.
They'll just outscore teams like they did under Rodgers. Their defense was dogshit back then as well. Mignolet was even worse.
The only thing is DD has said he wont let anyone leave French camp after today, so either they get a bid accepted today or Lemar does not sign for this window atleast.
