Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Seriously? They had Gerrard shirts?

Remember, they have a history of all wearing the same shirts.

His decline has been unreal, bar a small patch of form last season before the turnaround in fortune, he has been garbage. at least scholes could come on in his twilight years and still run a game for 25-30 mins.

so that's really nobody left at the club anymore who knows how to win trophies. Sterling thinks he's bigger than the club and hendo captain. colour me interested

Some of the Liverpool players should be embarrassed by their efforts. I watched the match, even though he's a bit of a cnut Gerrard probably at least deserved his teammates giving a shit about his last Anfield game.

I can honestly see them drawing against stoke and Southampton pushing for the win against city to give the 6th. I really can see it. They don't deserve to be in Europe. Rather see villa take there place.
It will hurt England's coefficient if Villa gets there. Dont think they will make out of group stage. It will be deserved if they win final and having beaten Liverpool and Arsenal in semis and final will be huge achievement, but can't see them having enough resources to handle PL+ Europe and another team going out early is not good for uefa coeff. Liverpool will atleast make it through Europa group stages.

I would much rather have stronger PL teams in both European competition or else in few years, the CL spots for PL will come down to 3.

why do people think the players did not give any effort?

They were just not good enough.

Sterling and Coutinho were the too I meant. They are definitely good enough, but they didn't look like they tried at all to stamp their influence on the game.

Yes I agree with that but I'm more looking at it where villa has been down in the dumps and some European games could see them attract some better players and some more income. And try and start getting back top 8 finishes. Rather see a team that wants to be in the competition like Villa than Liverpool. I understand the coefficient stand point though

Ya the problem of likes of Spurs and Liverpool not taking it that seriously is there. I think they should try harder. If Dnipro can reach final and be so close to automatic CL place and a European trophy, then Spurs, Liverpool can too. In fact, I would say the same if United is there. Prioritize on weekly basis depending on weekend game but take Europa seriously enough to give everything in trying to win.

Villa taking it seriously will depend if they get a squad to challenge on multiple fronts. Otherwise they may end up in relegation fight again domestically while trying to fight it out in Europa.

There's no special ceremony for fans when their club wins the league. The ghosts of the 1888/89 Preston North End squad don't appear from under your bed to show you the hidden knowledge.

If you've watched the team you support win the league so frequently (and be in the title race pretty much every single season for the last 20 years) you definitely get a better feel of what the big moments are and the turning points in a campaign. Even the ones we came up short in help add to the fans experience.

Liverpool were in pole position, everything was with them, that late penalty to beat Fulham was huge, it was only a matter of when, not if they'd win the league by the time a weak Chelsea team rolled into Anfield. Then he slipped.

Because we have more sense about us to let it turn it to the circus that we saw today, the only thing miss was a trapeze act and an exploding clown car, but there was a clown.

And because they've had nothing else to celebrate/commemorate for years.

Actually I think you're wrong. What has happened to the Scousers happened to us after 1968. In the 70s as they were reaching their peak, they made a big point of promoting how they got rid of the old dead wood. They meant Shankly but it was also a direct smirk at Matt and our board. They blamed our continual failings on Matt losing the plot and preventing the team from breaking with the past. It took Tommy Doc to break the squad but it took Fergie to finally manage Matt's legacy and mould it into a successful modern squad.

The Scouses suddenly plummeted from 1992. There are notions that it was in parallel with the 92 back pass rule, or suddenly losing the attraction for top players, or managers. They also collected an awful lot of cultural baggage like Heyzel and Hillsborough. Slippy came along and was believed to be the Phoenix from the ashes who would carry the club back to the dizzy heights once again. The comparison might be with how Robbo came to represent our club - both in many respects cult figures emerging when their clubs were mediocre.

The comparisons between the periods of failure are quite interesting. We regularly turned the Scousers over and beat them in 1977 cup final but they won the league time after time. While we've been on top they won a few games but we won the campaign. It is noticeable that the only time their squad looks anything like as capable of their old teams is when they play us. When they were top they had a system a spine of superior players.

In these last years they have been orientated toward the pivotal single player. It never works, as it didn't for us with Robbo. Just as Robbo failed mostly through injury, Slippy failed mostly with a burden he was no longer capable of shouldering. They smirked over Matt dominating OT but have allowed Slippy to become the symbol of the club. Rodgers has had to deal with that problem just as Tommy Doc had to deal with Best, Law and Charlton.

For all my dislike of the bin men I don't want them to end up like that shower in Yorkshire. If they get a reasonable couple of spine players and find a proper system they will kick on.

This is the view of a fan who's probably never seen his team win a league. Therefore doesn't know what it takes, the key points, the defining moments. Gerrard's slip cost you the title. No doubt about that.
Au Contraire. I'm 56 yrs old and have supported LFC all my life. Work that out son !

The one review of that book is genius i am dying here hahahahah

'This was the year we rode our steeds through the mists of avalon. We made meer mortals shiver with the best football played on the planet since Guardiola's Barcelona. Sturridge and Suarez made Gerd Muller look like a hobo. 20 years of finishing below bacon face and his boys was erdadicated in one fell swoop. Even though we finished second it was like finishing 1st because we played such football. If this has been college football then football writers like Patrick Barclay would have made us Rose Bowl winners but due to Conspiracy with in the FA to make Demba Ba suddenly be able to hit a cows arse with a Banjo it was not to be, IN RODGERS WE TRUST.

As for the author Usher- this is best work since 'I Need A Girl' with P Diddy or Puff Daddy or Diddy or whatever he went by after he had milked the death of Notrorious BIG in the 90s.

5/5.'

Everything is gold.
THey were moral victors cause they played such football.
This is more proper for RAWK.
Fantastic.

Does EL go down to 7th? I would hate them to miss out.

if aston villa dont win the fa cup 7th gets europa

Even if Villa win the FA and Liverpool finish 7th they could still make it.

The PL is getting one of the fair play places and Liverpool are currently top of the fair play table.

That's clearly a United fan on the wum.

Make way Game of thrones here comes the Game of Nearly Men. The Isle of Binfield, surrounded by their dreaded enemies conspiring under the one dark lord known as FA to destroy them.
Or Liverpool being The Wall or The Red Wall, defending football world against White Walkers which would obviously be us and the FA.
