asier del horno is a fecking criminal and the cnut had the nerve to grab his throat pretending he was hit there

well deserved red

Was never a red. Booking. Both of them cheating and rolling about afterwards though :lol:

Are you absolutely mental?

He went over the top of the ball, completely reckless and not in control of his body.

Hence a red card.

Looking at it again, never watched the last angle, I can see why the red was given. I think it looks a hundred times worse with Messi jumping into Del Horno. In fairness, he was probably trying to get out the way but I don't think it is bad as some people think. Certainly not criminal.

Just had an argument down the pub about messi and how good he is. Sometimes I really have to question if my mates actually have a fecking clue. The same old, "I don't think he could do it in the premier league, he'd get kicked" etc argument. It's so stupid. He's gets kicked all the time, in each game again real he takes bare hacks and hes still better than everyone else.

Most ridiculous argument was if you stuck him in the stoke team he wouldn't be as effective. Still don't understand what point that makes other than stoke are crap. Or he hasn't won a trophy with Argentina. So what. It's a cup competition. Rooneys never won the fa cup does that mean Ashley cole is a great of the English game and Rooney isn't.

Chris Kamara was talking about him earlier on SSN. He made some very good points when talking about the Maradona comparisons and the people who try to claim that he can't been seen as the greatest until he wins a World Cup.
What points?

NB: If he trotted out the usual ''the world cup is not important anymore' bollocks then he did nothing.

Some may not remember but there was a worse foul from Del Horno that deserved a straight red several minutes before the infamous incident involving him & Robben near the corner flag...He was karate chopped at the thigh ala De Jong, but much worse...Remarkable Leo wasn't injured...Not even a whistle for that one

I'd say de Jong edges that contest.

today messi has become the first player ever to score 30 goals or more in three consecutive seasons on la liga

have i say that he is only 24?

He'd be scoring even more if it weren't for his atrocious penalty taking.

He has a real chance of reaching 70 goals this season.

I don't think he'll reach 70 to be honest, but he'll probably get over 60, which is an incredible achievement in itself.

Well he's already got 50 and there are 12 league games left, 1 cup game and very likely 5 CL games left - a total of 18 games at best. He could easily score 20 in them.

He could. I see him just missing out and maybe getting about 65-67.

Barca have have 15-18 games remaining and he's averaging 1.16 Goals Per Game this season, if he plays all of them he might do it. It would probably require Barca to get back into the title race and it to go to the wire though.

Yeah, it'll all depend on how they're doing. If they don't get back into the title race, but get to the Champions League final, then he'll be rested for the final few league games, which will reduce his chances of hitting that 70 mark.

Out of interest what is the record of scoring most goal in a season in any 19 team league?
