He was on a hattrick against Leipzig and gave a penalty to Mbappe because he won it. Today, he won the penalty so I think its down to that.He gets a pen with Mbappe on a hattrick?

You can google it, very good metric to measure offensive impact outside of goals
I dunno if there are any opta stats on how many games Messi started on the wing or something. During MSN he was on right again.

. playmaker is a player who controls the flow of the team's play, and is often involved in offensively and defensively play passing moves which lead to goals , through their vision, technique, ball control, creativity and passing ability.( quoting verbatim from Wikipedia)Try and look up the definition of a playmaker.
Maybe it’s a difference of how you define it. Your broad definition means Liverpool can start a game with 7 play makers at once( TAA, Robertson, Ox, Tiago, Mane, Salah, Fabinho). I guess we just have to accept that our definition is not the same and not derail the thread.Assists or key passes=/=playmaker.
Yes modern fullbacks like TAA, Cancelo and earlier the likes of Baines or Dani Alves in Sevilla are/were playmakers. Because the whole creativity of those teams were in a way dependant on them.

the bolded part is what makes me say Messi is not a play maker. How Argentina played vs Barca was the difference between Ever Banerga and Xavi. Xavi and even without Iniesta at times he took the same blueprint of Barca to Spain. That’s what a play maker does.
Why is this being contested? Didn't Messi win four Iffhs best playmaker awards? He's tied with Xavi. Next highest is Debruyne/Iniesta with two

No one is saying he did, dummy. It's standard PR you promote the player winning the Ballon d'Or, he happens to play at PSG now. Again, should Barcelona be the ones promoting it? Makes even less sense.I swear half the time Messi wins it, he doesn’t deserve it. Not bashing Messi. Just saying. Also PSG are such a sad club. He didn’t win it to playing for you, you saddos

Nah should have been Lewandowski again.BS, he deserved it
United or any other club would have done the exact same thing. It's just standard PR stunts to sell more jerseys.Just seems kind of cheap.

BS, he deserved it
Many thinks Lewandowski deserved it, just deal with it.
Many thinks Lewandowski deserved it, just deal with it.
And many think Messi deserved it and since he actually won to, you should learn to accept it instead of constantly crying about it.
He might, but France Football don't rate current Bundesliga and current Serie A.
You have to either play in PL or La Liga.
And win a meaningful trophy which Copa America was over bundesliga
If that's the case maybe it should have been Jorginho with his Euro Cup win + UCL win.
His retirement tour really isn't being helped by Ronaldo scoring nearly every week in a much harder league.
It was always heavily political, at least previously there was little doubt Ronaldo/Messi we’re individually levels above everyone so it didn’t really matter who won it.With each passing game, that Ballon D'or looks more and more an aberration.
