Iniesta is a great player but is he really on the same level as Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Romario, Cruijff and others?
He may not be as flashy as some of them but he is a better player than most of them.

I somehow agree. He lost the ball so many times and did not do too much.... well, except for scoring a hattrick. But that shows why he's the best player, his low performance level is still higher than most other's best levelthat was the best bad performance i've ever seen

They needed him in midfield, no problem. He distribuited, scored, and assisted in perhaps the most difficult match until now.
Best player in the world by far.
Clearly. Even Spanish commentator noted he was both Leo & Xavi on the night.
Gotta love the look of bewilderment that is the state of refereeing in Spain, being told to get off the pitch to put his boot on after N'zonzi had fouled him removing the boot in the first place - only to get booked himself for complaining about it. Benvingut a Espanya

Then they say Ronaldo is more complete, it's laughable.

He was booked because he wasted time, and you know it pretty well. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realised that your boot is ripped and busted. So he just sat there, tried to put on a busted boot, then took it off, looked at it, and the whole process took minutes. He knew what he was doing.
But yeah, the spanish refs are frustrating. Only 3 minutes of additional time was nothing but a big slap in the face.
Sampaoli's praise of Messi after the game is spot on, however. He was unreal yesterday. 27 goals on Sevilla, and I wonder how many games he has decided vs Sevilla, or been the difference - as yesterday.

Sure, he can kick a ball, but where the heck did that beard come from? It's quite impressive, and I think it's safe to say that nobody saw it coming.
N'Zonzi steps on Leo for the foul whereby losing the boot, Messi has to ask the ref what he is waiting for in not booking him - then is booked for putting his boots back on before the freekick. Gotta love the logic there, player was racing away from the defender who manages to only stop him by getting his boots off and inexplicably booked for time wasting because apparently he wasn't putting them back on fast enough. Then had to wait nearly 3 minutes to be allowed back on the pitch.
I agree, the ref knew exactly what he was doing
Lets try this again. N'zonzi steps on Messi's foot. Messi's boot comes off. Messi gets free kick. N'Zonzi is booked. So far everything is correct.
The boot that came off his foot is ripped/busted, i.e. destroyed. He needs new pair of boots. He sits there, try to put on a ripped boot. Ref tells him to be quick and get off the field for new boots. Messi still struggles on what to do with his busted boot, as he sits there. So take a look at yourself now, for instance; how long does it take you - a grown person - to put on 1 boot, before realising it is ripped. 15 seconds? Maybe 30 seconds if you are really slow? It took over 1 minute for Messi - with the premiss that Messi is not mentally handicapped, and that Barca are in the lead with less than 8 minutes left - then yeah, Messi knew exactly what he was doing. Remember the game vs Valencia just two weeks ago? Did you welcome Messi to La Liga in Catalan after that game as well? But hey, maybe as a cule it is a reflex to always be a victim no matter what.
At 7:08 , unnatural level of close control and composure to beat 3 players. Would have been a sumptuous goal.
Messi, thank you for everything you show us and stay healthy, because it's important for us to keep on seeing you on pitch.
After 25 minutes of the Gamper game against Juventus in 2005 I told Kluivert I wanted to sign him.
I had never seen any player with so much quality at this age and with so much personality wearing an important shirt.
Messi is a great Champion, he can do whatever he wants with a ball on his feet.
You're such a clown it's unbelievable. You even turn the "Messi has to ask the ref what he is waiting for in not booking him" in a way to blame the ref and praise Messi. Him demanding a yellow card is a bookable offense itself btw.N'Zonzi steps on Leo for the foul whereby losing the boot, Messi has to ask the ref what he is waiting for in not booking him - then is booked for putting his boots back on before the freekick.
