In terms of numbers it's very close between him and Ronaldo. In terms of technique and the way Messi gets his goals and assists compared to Ronaldo it's not even close who is a better player. Messi is on a different level to any other player i have watched.

He's on "cheat" mode. He's too fecking good when he's in form and his form can last for months which is scary.

He's broken Luis Figo's record as the most assists in La Liga history. To score the most goals and have the most assists (107) is just mind boggling. Best player I'll ever witness.
Barca have scored 55 goals in the past 15 games. You wonder how much of that is because of Messi coming back to form.
*since 1990, which is as far back as any reliable info on assists in La Liga goes. Before that it's just guess work (guys like Di Stéfano and Gento would probably have racked up quite a few assists too in their day)... Still, verifiably the most assists in the last 25 years is also quite good.

Yeah, should've added that. It's a tricky stat that can be misleading or hard to measure at times. Still a brilliant feat and to manage to be at the best at both is just great.

I think it's brilliant the way he's sort of just struck back this season. Not that he ever wasn't brilliant - but he's managed to just find that supreme level once again. Almost beaten his goalscoring stats from last season in both the league and all competitions already, and they were far from poor last season too.
It's absolutely mind blowing how many more records he's going to trash now. Now that Barcelona have shifted from a midfield based play to a forward based play, he has the opportunity to score more than ever before. It's scary what we are going to see the next couple of years.

The Messiah has returned! Since his injury early in 2013 hes had a dip in form (by his standards) but the world cup and his form this season indicates that hes back.

The whole team was actually taking it lot easy, and the match sort of felt like a friendly match. Everyone was conserving energy for next week. Only Pedro, Bartra and maybe Neymar seemed to play their normal energetic self, rest all were simply taking it lightly.

I think messi will be the best player again this year, because the team spirit and environment around him seems to be much better than madrid currently. Messi seems to be playing more has a team player, and his partnership with Neymar and Suarez when he starts, is pretty frightening. He's happier and the team are responding, and when messi is happy there is not another player like him

Of course he does. It took the team a while to adjust to his way of playing, also the adding Suarez was essential to the way the team plays and how Mess in particular is positioned upfront. I have to say I wasn't that confident of him, especially after the dressing room problems with Leo. However, he turned it around, so far, and the team is playing more direct with Messi on the flanks drawing defenders and opening up spaces for the others. Obviously its still early to say, but so far our problems of not creating much chances against teams that park the bus are starting to disappear, or we at least haven't suffered as much as the last 2 seasons.
