Lionel Messi - Performances

Neither of which have anything to do with what happened tonight.
Him being the best player this season has nothing to do with them winning the cl? Mmkay.

Of course then there's him playing a big part in the two winning goals and a small part in the first. But then vermalem probably did that too, somehow.

His cocksuckers must be gutted. Was going to be his crowning moment but it was a bit meh tbh.

crowning moment? he's already had a career full of them at age 27. I'm sure his 'cocksuckers' are gutted at him winning a 4th CL title.

This is why people hate this thread.

The original point was that he was disappointing tonight.

Marcos countered that by saying he won a CL medal.

I was just making the point that winning the medal doesn't automatically mean he had a great game.

The original point was laughable if you read it. Logic is more useful in discussion than weird taunts involving cocks

I don't disagree with your point of course. But I think he had a good game. The initial post he was replying to was a joke so I thought his response was apt.

The post you quoted was stupid, but Vermaelen won a CL medal tonight. Just saying.
Pele won the world cup in 1962. Just saying.

Messi's performance tonight was better than Moaradona's in the 1986 final, let alone Vermaelen's tonight.

no, he wasnt saying that messi was dissapointing, that's where you get everything wrong

he was saying he didnt have a great moment for messi's cocksuckers

that's why i replied the way i did

if he had said he had a dissapointing game, i wouldnt have mind replying, is just his opinion

but he was insulting every other poster that think that messi is good

just saying

Rado N hates messi, and he doesnt have the balls to say it because, deep inside he knows is a stupid and childish feeling

so he comes here to defend the messi haters trying to give them some legitimacy

Messi is the best player in the world, comfortably so, I don't hate him at all, I enjoy watching him play.

I'm just capable of rational discussion about him.

he had a great game. Didn't score, but that was all that was missing.

Zidane plays a game like that, in a final, people would have been raving.

I think some folk will stop watching the game when those two quit.
Come on now. Bale's not that good :)

Nah, people find new heroes to follow. Cal? used to be anti Henry (not the poster) pro ruud as if his life depended on it, before.

I'm not seeing it, he was decent at best for me. I don't think any of Barca's front three stood out much tonight.

Juve produced a good solid defensive effort against them and the break away goal in injury time makes the scoreline look more dominant than the game played out.

Calm down children

I can understand how some might find him disappointed, people might have expected a dazzling individual display and his name on the scoresheet which didn't happen. I can also seem why people would think he had a great game, he played crucial parts in both goals and was always a threat, also causing problems.

Nothing great about that performance. Took him ages to get into the game, and when he did everything he did didn't seem to come off for him, some near misses. Similar to dinho in the CL final 06.

unlike you, that say you can have a rational discussion, but when Skills comes calling us "messi's cocksuckers" you pick my post to make a "rational argument" about vermaelen winning the CL
For crying out loud I even agreed with you that his post was stupid. Is it really that hard to understand that citing a medal win isn't a good argument for a performance in one game?!?!

I don't think any of the top 3 were incredible, but Messi and Neymar had very good games. Juve were always going to kill their space but in key moments they found it and hurt them, and won the game.

and is it really that hard to understand that i responded him because he was insulting us?

It's a testament to how good he is when people consider this performance as anything but very good or great. If Rooney or Di Maria played a game like this we'd be creaming ourselves.

His cross field ball basically set up the first goal. To be frank, no one really stood out particularly in this game other than may be Marchisio.

A tad extreme definitely though watching the goal back again it's interesting how many of the Juve players are pushed up the pitch towards Messi when he picks it up. Even when it gets cut back to Rakitic you can clearly see Pogba and Pirlo standing outside the area keeping their eye on Messi rather than tracking the run.
Juve commit men on that side vs every match, its how they stay compact and make it difficult for teams to pass through them. Regardless, they had enough men on the weak side to deal with the danger, that cross field pass wasn't some great play they should've struggled to deal with.

No, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the ensuing shit storm does it? I never said you were wrong in saying his post was stupid. I agreed with you that his post was stupid.

I simply made the point that having won the medal doesn't change the fact that he didn't have a great game.

Obviously having chosen a lighthearted way of doing that in saying Vermaelen also won a medal has caused a number of people to lose control of their brains.

Jaysus let it go, chaps. That post doesn't deserve such scrutiny.

Lots of things happened after that cross field ball. It was 'just' a cross field ball, not one that left them badly exposed.

True about that, that's what you expect in the really big games with 2 quality teams going at it. The good players look bad, the mediocre players look poor, the great players look good, and the greats well, the should at least put on a great display. Something short of their level, but not one where long patches of the match go with no one really knows where they are.
