Ligue 1 | French Football 2017/18

Shit first half but 1-0 so I won't complain.

That wasn't impressive at all by PSG. Saint Etienne played well and the final result doesn't do them justice.

Neymar did a couple of nice tricks and was entertaining as always but he was average today.

Lacklustre performance from PSG... But also no threat whatsoever from ASSE except for two occasions where Aréola pulled some great 1v1 reflex saves.
Neymar, showboaty and near-unstoppable in equal measure-- yet no end product. Cavani somehow scores twice. (soft pen + tap-in).
Di María looking like the Di María that appears in tournaments for Argentina NT, so sloppy.

Lo Celso could be a great player at a smaller club but here I fear his lack of game time will curb his development.

They are drawing these games at best.
Sometimes with the lack of concentration in 1 match, and if they start having a big advantage, you just need to see a red card, or lack of motivation to happen, even Porto Mourinho in Portugal had those lapses, its human nature.

Hope so because otherwise it is gonna be so boring. P.S.G. are so above everyone else, even when they play crap.

PSG are the heaviest of favourites but Monaco, Lyon and Marseille have looked promising, too. Nabil Fekir looks to have put his post-injury problems behind him.

Quick question for our resident PSG fans: Why did Zagadou leave and how highly was he rated by you guys?
Only just turned 18 and looks like Dortmund got themselves the next incredible talent.
He is a physical beast and the most impressive thing is how calm he is considering his age.

He was highly rated among the academy but didn't have chances with the 1st team yet.

He would have been 4th choice at CB in Paris if he stayed but wasn't even sure of that when he left as there were talks of signing Pepe. He will play more and be in a fine club at Dortmund by all means.

PSG is actively trying to find solutions to stop the exodus of academy players as we speak. Luis Fernandez was appointed for this exact mission.

Monaco with a must-win game today. They can't afford to drop points until they go face to face with P.S.G.

Because of the French law doesn't allow French club to keep the hand on their youth under 18. Anelka & Flamini were stolen by Arsenal, Coman by Juventus...

Things are changing regarding the PSG youth policy but you always need to convince players. Usual to see 14-year-old player with formal agents.

Zagadou was considered as a promising talent but refused to sign a pro contract.

So what do people think of Falcao these days? Could he just not cut it in England cause of his knee or what?

I think the LvG system and slow build up play was half of it. He probably should have tried a season in Ligue 1 before taking on such a daunting challenge after a serious injury. He joined Chelsea at the worst possible time. Mourinho lost the dressing room within weeks of him joining, and Hazard + Cesc were in woeful form due to a lack of effort. He was starved of minutes and service.

Losing all these players and still winning everything.
Jardim is a genius.
