Cb's should have done better instead of just stand and assume, seems no one anticipates anything but Onana pushed that straight into the box and not for the first or second time since coming to United, he's very bad at steering where to deflect the ball something all keepers practice as it's very important to push the ball to corner or at least out wide as much as possible while he often just pushes it straight out to the box again where any decent striker will be waiting, especially knowing this, however our defenders haven't picked up on it seems
If we could get rid of Onana I would but with PSR we probably have to focus on other areas.
Who should we replace Onana with? We should take a look at that keeper N.E. Juan-Else.
I like Mycael from Athletico Paranaense. Strong reflexes, commanding presence, good with his feet. I don’t think we look at a starter but let’s buy someone we see potential in and loan them back out so we have options down the line.
Yes, De Light is at fault for sure.
However, Onana does have this technical issue where parries straight onto an incoming attacker rather than push it out. He made another save later in the game where he did the same thing.
Don't think we can or we should spend big on a keeper this summer. Ideally get in some young high potential players, maybe 2 of them (although not many would want to come in as a 3rd keeper).

Yet your outstanding shot stopper De Gea has a blooper reel worse than Big Pete. Make it make sense.
We should have never sold Kovar. He is easily better than Onana is any day. I hope we trigger the buyback clause since we can't afford another big money GK.
if you read (maybe try it) what I wrote about the defending, you'd know I blamed the CBs too but that doesn't mean the keeper has to feck up as well
One option we could look at is James Trafford but he won’t be cheap being young and English, especially if Burnley get promoted.
We have a lot of problems, and a keeper is not near the top of the list. Hold for 2 years.
Elyh Harrison has looked great, but the step up from youth/reserve football is almost impossible.

What is the buyback price ? He’s first choice at Leverkusen isn’t he ? Just another example of the club spending big money for a shiny new big name instead of trying what we have in the reserves or academy.
It’s reasons like that why I want us to try Harrison, Kukonki, Heaven, Amass, Kone, the Fletcher’s, Ibragimov, Biancheri, Lacey and Obi-Martin as over the years we’ve had Rashford, Mainoo, Garnacho, McTominay, Greenwood, Collyer and Henderson all break into the first team and become at least squad players.

Chevalier likely more expensive at Lille with other big clubs linked, but Bulka looks solid and is at Nice so, you'd assume we know all about him.

If he was at any other club, then Kelleher would be a great option. Only a #2 but looks better than most clubs #1. Very unlucky to be behind Alisson as he'd be first pick at most clubs.

I think not, but considering their starting GK is aging, you would assume that soon he'll become the no.1. He apparently excelled in almost every game he's started.

Sorry but this is nonsense, Kovar is not better than Onana in any way. I feel people haven't seen him enough and are saying this based on Leverkusen doing well last season. Kovar has certainly impressed as a number 2 but hasn't shown he can be a reliable number 1.
Onana has been fine this season, Kovar wouldn't improve on him.

Out off all the problems we have in the squad I don't think he's the biggest one that needs an immediate investment. Given how stingy we seem to be we really should look to spend whatever we have in other positions.

It's a tough one.
We obviously desperately need to add more goals - definitely with a #9, and maybe even another attacking role (one of the #10's or a more attacking wing back).
And we also need to address the continual central midfield issues (to find a partner for Ugarte).
But the GK issue is also a hugely important area that desperately needs addressing just as much as well.
It's hard to say which areas are more pressing really. I certainly wouldn't downplay any of the areas as being less urgent. We desperately need more goals and creativity in the squad. We desperately need a better midfield to instill some control into games. And we desperately need a far more consistent and reliable keeper who won't regularly gift opponents soft goals.
I'll be happy whichever of those areas we manage to strengthen, just so long as it looks like we've got our scouting right and targeted and attainable and affordable option that looks a likely upgrade.
He's been doing okay this season, his underlying stats are around the average so not great but not bad as well. That's the issue for me, we've been downright BAD is other areas, especially up front and midfield as you've said.
Yeah I definitely get that aspect, he’s certainly not the immediate next step to change our fortunes but he’s been guilty of some absolute clangers this year and doesn’t inspire any confidence whatsoever, which I think then passes onto our defensive approach and makes us even more vulnerable

I know we have big needs all over the field, but the lack of security in goal kills the confidence of our defenders. If there's nothing for a doable market price, try getting someone like Lunin on loan.
I'd sub on the Polish kid thats on the bench over the clown we have in goal right now. Onana is by far the worst keeper we have had in my 30+ years supporting the club.
