Why, on earth, are we not linked with this guy? Hopefully it'll be a Martial type of signing...out of the blue after him being linked with other clubs!

Rather spend the money on this guy than Felipe Anderson.

I can't see him going anywhere in January, he has 4 years left on his contract and Schalke are fighting for a CL spot so I think it's highly unlikely that they would let go of him now.

I figured that's why the price went up. Bild reported a couple of days ago that Schalke have an inofficial price-tag of €40 million on him, but only in the summer.

Up comes the rumoured €55 million offer to let him go this January.

It looks like Schalke might fail to qualify one way or another and then they simply lost 15 million. I'm pretty sure they'll consider the transfer at this price.
 
Okay, a thread in the transfer forum for a player United is not linked with. For a 19 year old player who performed for about 6 months. Okay. I expect many more threads with this underlying pattern to come. :wenger:

Same here. Sané is their life-saving jacket for this season although he noticeably declined during the last couple of games; even a young player runs out of energy and urgency some time. As you, I can't see Schalke selling him now, and Sané would be keen to get into the Euro 2016 squad; his chances will be higher if he stays at Schalke than at any other club.

In the summer it may be a different matter. Even then though I wouldn't be the least surprised if he decides to stay for another season.
 
We should go for Sane and Embolo, no matter how much money their clubs want.

A front three with Martial, Embolo, Sane would be promising.
 
The president of Schalke and Sané's agent stressed again that he won't move this January.

I like this sentiment. Doesn't matter what people say. If they confirm it or say nothing then "IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG". If they deny it absolutely they are either pathological liars, just trying to squeeze out some bucks or they are saying what they are supposed to say, so it's still "ON LIKE DONKEY KONG".

There's a thread that has been up for a few weeks of potential transfer targets for someone who isn't even our manager. this is mild compared to that.

In general, managers and presidents rarely say in public that their players are available, so I wouldn't base the probability on a Sané transfer on a qoute from Schalke's president.

I don't think we will buy Sané in January since buying top players in January is always difficult. If he leaves City seem to be in pole position for him, judging from speculation in media. I think we have made Mané our top target and Soton probably knew that we would return in January with a new offer, which means that they have had 4 months to consider their position and to identify a replacement.

I agree, most likely not. My comment was a general comment about not relying too much on what presidents say on transfer rather than the outcome of Sané's proposed January move.

It would be the perfect time for them. I rather have patience with young promising talents then with the old guard.

I've read today, that both Schalke's DoF and Sane's agent confirmed that there's no release clause in his contract. He'd be stupid to go to Barca anyway unless one of Neymar or Messi leaves. He needs to play regularly, not sit on the bench.

We need a right winger and he is one of the best in that position. Also, Sane is a player with tons of potential. If the news about Barca signing him are true... Maybe we could try to sign someone like Mahrez or Moura in the summer.

We did a loan to buy as well with Falcao. Hard to believe that Barcelona have ran out of money
 
Tbh, I don't think he will leave this summer. Unless he plays a EURO out of this world, he probably knows he can cash in even more if he stays for one more season. German talent doesn't seem particularly keen on leaving the Bundesliga early.
 
He's been linked heavily with Barcelona the last couple of days. However, Sport ran an exclusive today saying it wasn't going to happen they we (man Utd) aerie already well down the line in negotiations with Shalke. Don't know what to make of it. Sport aren't reliable.

Considering the similarities to martial & memphis then - i wouldn't be surprised at all if this was true.

A left footed RW is something this squad needs even more than a goalscorer (2nd of importance)
