Leny Yoro | Out for 3 months with a metatarsal injury

“Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.

“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.

“I know about the history of young players at Manchester United and feel it can be the perfect place to reach my potential and achieve my ambitions, together with my new team-mates. I cannot wait to get started.”

Ashworth:

“Leny is one of the most exciting young defenders in world football; he possesses every attribute needed to develop into a top-class centre-back. Having had such an excellent start to his career, we are excited to support him in reaching his immense potential here at Manchester United.

“This club has a fantastic record of developing young players, whether homegrown or brought in from elsewhere, and giving them the required guidance, time and patience to grow and flourish. Under Erik ten Hag and our excellent staff we will ensure that Leny has the perfect platform to achieve the success that everyone across the club is aiming for.”

Delighted with this. Great effort to sign him when a Madrid move sounded nailed on.

Clever announcement timing as well - very soon after the Greenwood sale to quickly move the talk on to something else.

Delighted to sign one of the best young players in Europe. We need to refresh our defensive options and bringing Yoro in is a great start. Can’t wait to see him line up alongside Martinez this season.

When is the last time we signed a high end CB prospect of this profile? Smalling and Jones werent at this level, is it Rio?

Get the feck in! What a well executed transfer. It sounds like he likes our plans for his development as well.

Nice to see us developing a talented and competent set of players at the right age and at decent prices.

It's not official until we get the video where Ten Hag gives him a crisp handshake, and then ruins it by being socially awkward immediately afterwards with his shoulder rubbing and saying "you like heh?!"

Honestly seeing any transfer let alone a coup like this get reported as happening and then done in the space of two days is like magic as a Utd fan. Very happy with this.

The right type of player, huge potential, played 60 matches last season so must have a good injury record. Hopefully he will be a top player for us. Who is next?
