We are going to need someone more aggressive beside DeJong
We are going to need someone more aggressive beside DeJong
I don't think it's likely given the other huge holes in the first team, but I certainly wouldn't be against it.Would like him to be midfield partner for De Jong, however won't believe anything until the usual suspects report it.

Not excited by this prospect at all.
If Ten Hag is asking for it, I'll support it - though I fear he's going to end up with very little of what he asks for
Know nothing about him. What does he play like?
Paredes is a poor defender, he can't press to save his life, he has poor positioning, can't move the ball in the middle without Verratti. Aesthetically he looks good but can't actually play Football at a high level.
Every time I’ve watched him, he looks like a red card waiting to happen.
I thought he played okay in the handful of games I've seen him. Admittedly I've not seen much of him recently, but when Verratti was unavailable he at least looked better than some of the cloggers PSG occassionally used to stack their midfield with under Tuchel.
Has he dropped off in the last year or so or have I been hoodwinked with the "aesthetically he looks good" thing? I'm thinking the handful I've seen he may have been next to Danilo and Gueye, so probably it is the latter!
Yet when you look at his career stats it seems like he only had 3 red cards in his whole career.
He's an OK asset to have when your team has lots of possession. A regista type, great technique on his long passes (I guess shots too but they almost never go in).
He can dictate tempo but unfortunately he's way too unambitious with his through balls. I believe he has excellent vision but for some reason he barely ever utilises it. He'll break lines with ease a few times and then retreat back into his shell with a couple of hundred side/back passes. Just one of many reasons why he can be a frustrating player to watch.
Worst traits are he's a nightmare on defense and not nearly press resistant enough for high tempo football. He's painfully slow and very volatile with his tackles. Like a cone with a shotgun. He's also the designated team bastard; obviously likes to provoke and pick fights. Btw the extension he got at PSG just now was a +1 year that triggered automatically based on the number of appearances. If I had to guess PSG would rather offload than keep him this summer.
Surely Rabiot you're talking about and not Paredes? On the plus side he's a very good player. But there's always a risk that the Harkonnens will track him down and try and kill him like they did with the rest of his House.
Seems someone who hasn't bothered to kick on since joining PSG and happy with the money. Had some good potential when at Roma I thought, would be very disappointed if he was to come here.
You're right, I totally scrubbed that from my mind. Yeah no way is he worth the gamble.Didn't he go to Russia for a bit?
I really rated him at Roma and was bemused Argentina didn't play him much at 2018 world cup but career stalled since then so would be a gamble for team needing 3-4 players to get them back into top 4.
He’s a £20m player.
Is this a signal that we are abandoning the De Jong deal?
He’s quite underrated imo. Whenever I’ve seen him play, he’s been pretty good. Also, he’s a full international and plays regularly for Argentina.
Yeah I read that as *thunder clap* (/echoey powerful booming voice) THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE *orchestral dun dun duuhhhhh*You make THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE sound so dam mighty, I want to be THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE now dude.
No but better than McTominayIs he an upgrade on Fred? I have only seen him a few times and was rather underwhelmed, but would love to hear from PSG supporters.
