He's a hipster favourite. I personally think he should stay in Serie A or move to La Liga though.

I really don't think we'll sign this type of player. For the most part Carrick wasn't even in Mourinho's first choice plans at the start of the season but gradually bought him in. Sure, he sees the importance of him now but when he has the ability to chop and change his side in the summer I don't think we'll be looking for another deep-lying playmaker type of CM.

Importance of that kind of player is truly overstated, no need to replace him with the same kind of a player, think Jose will go for someone more powerful who can also win the ball back, so Ander can move little further up the pitch an move the ball quickly in the final third and we can win the ball quickly high up the pitch too and the overall transition is quicker
Strangely Liverpool have reportedly made a bid for him. Don't really see him as a pressing midfielder.

Roma now denying that they have received a bid. One to watch though in the Summer.
Him and De Rossi are rotating.
He'd suit us a lot more than he would suit Liverpool. He's fantastic at bypassing the press.
In all fairness pressing game in Calcio isn't really as relentless as it is here.

He seems to have a Pirlo vibe about him. Exceptional passing, press-resistant and great technical abilities. He's not very physical, but he is still good defensively. His positioning is excellent and he is decent at tackling.
What I like about him is his ability to pass in tight situations which is what he'll come against in the Premiership. He could be better than Carrick in a few years time. I've always rated him and he would be a much better player to consider than Bakayoko.
According to me Paredes is not at "Man United level". He is still not at "Roma level" (he usually starts from the bench)
I don't rate Paredes very high, he often "sleeps" for some period in the match.

Few Italian sources (including their Sky) say he's close to Zenit... one of top targets of Mancini.

I don't get how this guy can just slip past every big club and somehow end up at Zenit.
He is clearly very talented and just need the chance to play more regularly. Wish we would take a punt on him.

I also think he would be a good addition and he should be available for ~30M EUR, which is more than decent price in this market. Still very young and quite a few times I saw him in Serie A he looked really promising
Totally different player and I am probably generalising as he is Argentinian and at Roma, but he seems to be getting overhyped a lot like Lamela that went to Spurs. Both good players with good potential but at the same time there are lots of players even in the Argentinian sides better than both and similar ages.
Find it strange how so many seem to think we should sign him as a Carrick replacement, fact is he can't even break into Roma's first 11 on a regular basis.

I choose to listen to a fan that most likely has watched all of Roma's matches compared to guys on the internet that heard the name thrown around and then watched a YouTube compilation, yes.
Paredes is a DM\DLP, his competition from the names you mentioned would be De Rossi, while Strootman and Nainggolan play b2b and Pjanic play more advanced.
I bet I watch as many as the next guy.
Paredes is a multifunctional player like Kroos and Verratti. There aren't many players in the game who posses the ability to sit and dictate the play. His potential is huge. It's up to him to build on the good work he's put in over the past 2 seasons. Going to Zenit for financial reasons isn't a move in the right direction.
Let me point you to wr8's posts with that logic, you will be delighted to see this new guy we have playing for us. The white pele as he is known as in certain circles.

Anyways, the Carrick replacement DM\DLP we sign will be a very vital cog for us from the get-go, especially considering we got the CL coming up and we'll get murdered without a proper DM.
Someone not being the undisputed first choice for Roma probably won't be that cog for us.

Would he really be released by Roma for a relatively modest fee to Zenit of all clubs if he was the bees knees? And wouldn't more clubs be in for him at that price?
I don't think we'll replace like for like, seems like less of a necessity with the lack of true wingers that huh the touchline. Plus, it's hard to find one like him.
At the prices being mentioned in the media, I would be very interested in Paredes. I think he will be a player in the future that many clubs look at and think 'why weren't we in for him in 2017?'

He does a very good highlight reel, but I don't think he was as good as some people made out. 100% better than Zenit though.
