Leandro Paredes

This is the type of signing I was expecting. Ten Hag being able to get the best out of a stalled player and bring him up a level

With Vitinha joining them I wonder how much gametine he'd be likely to get. I wouldn't be against it personally, seems a potentially canny transfer.

Seems to get on the ball an awful lot at the very least. Only Verratti seems to attempt more passes in Europe’s top 5 leagues than him per 90 minutes

From the little I've seen him with PSG, he is at least good on the ball, he is no Veratti level on the ball, but he has the minimum proficiency on the ball for a DM playing in the top level of football

Know nothing about him. What does he play like?
Very aggressive type of player and can keep possession based on what I watched him playing vs us and other CL games. He was the one who made Fred to lose his temper but got away with only yellow card (eventually got a red in 2nd half).

Cleverley.
Come on, il n'est pas si mal. He just needs a change of scenery. Him next to De Jong would do wonders for our midfield. Are there better players that we could get? Yes but he would compliment what he have pretty well.

If Frenk is answer to Pogba, this lad looks bit closer to addressing Matić's position.

He'd complement Fred and McTominay?

Among the midfielders we have been linked so far, Paredes is the one imo has the best chance to do Schone’s role and tasks if ten Hag‘s plan was to replicate that 18/19 midfield again.

He is shit, he has no business being on PSG's bench, let alone playing.

Whoah that's bad.. hope we do not bring him in, I said earlier I saw very little of him and one thing I noticed he is good on the ball, but you also said he a "Cleverly" which means he is basically a sideways/backwards passer, probably I am wrong in saying he is good on the ball

Don't see it with him. He's a poor man's Fred with a wicked shot
His game has matured tremendously since he was at Bayern and Swansea. Played a big part in Lilles title winning team a year ago and he's been one of Portugals best for the NT.

We could use what he offers in midfield with his workrate and ball winning ability. There's a reason Klopp wanted to sign him last summer before he got injured

His inability to stay fit is the real problem with him. He’s never clocked more than league 20 starts for Lille in the three seasons he’s been there.

Some of his passing stats are certainly pretty good. But then again you're always going to get plenty of the ball for PSG domestically.

Paredes is a poor defender, he can't press to save his life, he has poor positioning, can't move the ball in the middle without Verratti. Aesthetically he looks good but can't actually play Football at a high level.

I like him too but I think he’s been really injury prone in the last two years or more.

Not really a fan tbh, have yet to impressed anytime I've watched him for PSG

Does "number 1 target after FDJ" mean the player we'd turn to if we can't get FDJ or our next priority target after we get FDJ?

So who is in that position then?

Someone more physical, better positionally and complementing Frenkie's weaknesses, while also being able to play a bit. A more complete midfielder, I think Paredes is not really that. He can pass and spray the ball a bit around, but other than that, I am not sure what he would bring. If ETH thinks he can do wonders with him, fine. But I think the source is not that good as well if I am not mistaken.

He’d be our number 2 target if we fail to get FDJ so he’s just our next transfer?

Strange wording

Very good player, underrated for sure. If anyone remembers the Madrid tie, the game turned on its head once he was subbed, PSG lost all control in midfield even with3 Verratti on the pitch. I'd love to have him here, technically astute, and gives everything.

I like him. He's the sort of player I'd expect us to target, someone with ability and something to prove. I think he's an alternative to de Jong with more bite and less intelligence I'd say. I think he'd suit English football. Would rather have de Jong but I like Paredes as an alternative. We need a ball player with positional discipline to compliment the dynamism of Fred or mctominay. They are both better players when they're allowed to press and break forward, with a holding midfielder behind them.

Would like him to be midfield partner for De Jong, however won't believe anything until the usual suspects report it.
