Wasn’t there also some questions around corruption/incompetence in terms of how the police investigated the cases? Which adds fuel to the fire.
It's just an easy racist trope that they can shout whilst using concern as cover. There's obviously some grooming gang cases in certain areas that are predominantly Asian but nationally 85% are white.
It's a bit of a political failure because politicians have largely pushed investigations to local councils, the papers have forced certain councils into investigating and it's obvious which demographics they push. If the government had done more nationally they'd be able to shed light on it being a more general issue.
Aye. There have been a lot of calls for an enquiry into the Bradford grooming circle, but like all of them, they are preying upon children who have been failed by the system in the first place, whether that’s the police, social services, education or judicial systems etc.

According to the NPCC - from January to September 2024, there were 1,623 (85%) white suspects of child sexual abuse, and 75 Pakistani (3.9%).
When data on abuse in institutions (schools, churches, children’s homes) and offences committed within a family are removed, the figures for group-based CSE show there were 144 (63%) white suspects, and 31 (14%) Pakistani. Bear in mind Pakistanis were 2.7% of the UK population in the 2021 census. Obviously some proportion of white suspects will also be from immigrant communities. Also the data on CSE is never anywhere close to complete. NPCC say the information on ethnicity wasn't recorded for 60% of suspects in the first nine months of 2024.
Investigations into some of the most egregious old cases like Rochdale, Rotherham and Telford also found clear evidence of systemic failures and cover-ups from police forces/social work/local councils.
It is a genuine problem in certain parts of the country, midlands and the north to be specific, and it's brought up because it appears the police were pretty useless at uncovering it/stopping it.
The issue with all the right wing nutters is there is usually a degree of truth in what they are saying, the problem is the way they then present (and the media helps them) their narrative will be about as basic as it gets i.e. British-Pakistani men involved in multiple grooming cases = muslims are bad.
Yeah, definitely mass exaggeration and generalisation to push a narrative and fear monger etc. Sad that such things are happening in society but humans are shite. Well at least a good proportion of them.
And as always they ignore the real problem which is the failure of the systems to protect vulnerable kids, regardless of the race of the perpetrators.

And he got chucked out before he took his a levels. Imagine how much of a loser you have to be for a school your parents are paying 30 grand a year for you to attend, to say, hey, I want him gone. The risk of lawsuits and general brand image means these schools rarely take these measures, but here they did. He's been self-destructing since he was 17 years old. His family connections get him support, so it just keeps going.
Remember, it was only a few years ago the BBC had him on the one show singing. He can;t sing a note. But they had him on anyway.
