Lassana Diarra

Just want to point out that he's not 23 as stated in the article. He's born in March of 85, which makes him 25.

And also, I prefer what we've already got to him, so no thanks.

So Ozil for 15 million has no Value. But Diarra for 20 does? This story is bollocks.

Depends - if manager doesn't think our need is in an attacking midfielder right now but, a good defensive midfielder in that Hargreaves may never play again for us - it might represent more value to him.

The Diarra hype is a bit of a mystery to me. He was OK at Chelsea who used him as an auxiliary RB. He played for us for half a season and was underwhelming. He did OK for Portsmouth and got signed by Real who now want to get rid. OK midtable DM see Muamba for a comparison.

I am so sick of this no value in the transfer market, its full of rubbish, we are skint and simply have no money to spend. :(

I have no money as well, can you get me some free tickets? Presume you get some freebies doing the books for the club and having access to insider info.

He'll stay at Real and have a very good season under Mourinho next year. You just watch.

His moves from Chelsea and Arse were more a result of him wanting to go than the managers really wanting to get rid of him. They weren't too heartbroken about it but, would have kept him as well - or so it seemed.

He wanted more games that he wasn't getting.

I think wherever he goes at this time - he will have to learn that if it is a big club then he'll have to be a squad player. If he wants to play full time - he'll need to set his sights at a non-top tier club. It's probably best for him to stay at Madrid for now. Khedira is still not proven and he may still get his shot.

You think Jose will admit he was wrong and embrace him? Or fail to recognise that 'Lass' is actually the same mediocre player as 'Diarra'.

He's a more mature player now and a player that will play an important role next year I reckon. Especially considering all the attacking players they have that show little or no interest in defending.

This from today's telegraph...

With Jose Mourinho now in charge of Real and looking to bring in other players it seems Diarra may be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and as such is on the hunt for a club which would provide him with first team action.

It would not be the first time the 25-year-old, valued at around £18 million, would leave a club due to a lack of opportunity having done so with Arsenal and Chelsea prior to his time in Spain, but with Sir Alex Ferguson in need of dependable midfielders as the start of the season approaches the deal could prove to solve problems for both parties.

United will start the season without Owen Hargreaves and while Michael Carrick still has age on his side, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are 36 and 35 respectively and looking to be coming towards the end of their careers.

Meanwhile, Bolton manager Owen Coyle looks to be winning the race to sign United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

A report in the Mirror suggests Ferguson has agreed to the deal on the proviso that Cleverley is included in Bolton's first team plans in order that he continues to develop.

Manchester United set to bid for Real Madrid's Lassana Diarra - Telegraph

As it seems no one else wants him, why would we want him? If its as, almost, a stop gap, nearer £10M seems closer to the mark.

Really - he could sit on the sidelines? Brilliant.

Ah - so you mean he could be tried in his best position, be a bit crap, do better in another position, score a free-kick, then never play for us again?

Brilliant.

Honestly i wouldnt mind it at all, given Hargreaves is probably finished and the golden oldies on their last knockings for a decent price Diarra wouldnt be a bad buy at all.

Agree with the above poster though, i refuse to support anyone with LASS running around in a United shirt, man up you bloody fanny!

I'd rather have a Lass rounding around than Kaka (not in terms of players) ... a girl running around surely is better than poo.
