Aye, there's that - of course.

Still, you could argue that the pesky boxes were depleted (as far as real assets go) very quickly, thus landing there became a matter of picking up something fairly drossy very quickly too. Whereas the non-pesky boxes are still good for top players - or at the very least clear upgrades on the dross (whereas if you're done, you're done - and stuck with whatever dross you ended up with).

I dunno - I guess my theory is that it should be possible to increase the quality of your XI here compared to some of the managers who are done (but you obviously can't be downright unlucky - the latter just means more dross, as you say).
 
@antohan the brownie points are transferable to the reinforcement rounds right(if I make it there of course)?

Seeing Edgars explanation - 4 rolls and we choose 2 of them - the one I choose and then don't like it we reroll that roll right?

The Third D'or can actually go completely empty soon - don't think it will - but I landed there recently and there's like a total of 3-4 players left. Wonder what EAP had planned for an event of a box getting completely empty.

Aye, that's a fair summary. Alot depends on what positions one needs to fill and how strong their team is already. Personally, I think there's 10 boxes that could strengthen my starting XI at this stage - its just a matter of landing on the feckers.

Nope. I'll make all 4 rolls and you choose to participate before the announcement is made.

For example, I make the roll, you choose not to play, I announce the results and you move to the new box...but don't have to pick. Next roll will happen as usual, you make the call to play, move to new box and make your pick.

@Edgar Allan Pillow has to make that call. I won't even be around for reinforcements.

Personally, I think it shouldn't. It was made up as we went along and shouldn't have such a significant impact in later stages. One for the future though.

Agree on this. Brownie's will not apply to reinforcements. I can give a cookie surprise though ;)
 
Anyone else think this basically opens the door for drafts being based on any game? :lol: Probably what the drafts needed.

Like I can have a Poker Draft where I deal cards and your final hand dictates what kinda player you get. Can be made interesting by stuff like you can fold at a particular point and go for a safer player or gamble for something greater and play till the end and what not. Will need a whole lotta thought though. :D

Considering the quality of players it has great rebalancing potential:

1. You must drop a player belonging to that box so as to replenish (flaw as standalone: you may not have one)

2. So if you don't, you can instead pick someone belonging in that box off any of the other greedy managers who picked them and didn't share

Yeah, something new is always nice - no doubt about that.

However, I doubt that most managers and neutrals would favour randomness and luck based drafts as a permanent change - great for variety and a break from the more "serious" kind, but in the long run I think most people actually want "serious" (and the latter is what you need if you want actual meltdowns to entertain the neutrals too).

I don't think it'll get really empty. The pool of losing teams would certainly have a couple more to add to every box, I suppose.
