I am still recovering from Ettihad, almost feeling the cramps. I can't imagine how the players are, and they still manage to win el clásico like that.
 
Besides the goal, Jude was playing for 3 today. Amount of work he puts in is fantastic. And should’ve gotten an assist but Vini was off today (he alone should have had 3 goals).

Now to focus on the CL.
 
I'd hate to be a Barca fan these days. I don't see how they can beat Real in the coming years, it's probably the worst this young Madrid team.is going to be and they still won la Liga easily.
 
Real's superior engine wins them the game and the league. Bellingham deserves this goal for his efforts this week. Him and Valverde need to get drug tested. Not a great game but it was entertaining enough.

They are also stuck with Lewandowski, not until 25, but until 26, on big wages, maybe they get to offload him to Saudi, if they are lucky.

We also have a lot of young talents like Pedri, Gavi, Fermín, Lamine Yamal, Balde, Cubarsí... Plus some good middle age players like De Jong, Koundé, Araujo, Christensen, Ter Stegen (for a Keeper). We are two or three signings away from having a very strong starting eleven. And very decent subs.
 
Barcelona are just weak these days. You never fancy them to hold their lead in games like this

It's also the worst this young Barca team is going to be and they won it last season.
 
The difference is that Barca will overplay and probably destroy half their young talent with injuries. Whereas Madrid has been sustainably run and they’ll be able to manage their squad better. To think that at the very least they’ll be adding Mbappe and Endrick in the summer. And then I would imagine they’ll pick up a midfielder or two to replace the outgoing Kroos and Modric. I wouldn’t put it past them to pull off another worldie signing in CM.

That's surprising, but ok, that's the graphic they've used. Personally thought it was over because after Lunin makes contact with the ball, it is diverted to Lunin's right and then lands flush on the line, which is five inches. It doesn't seem in any sense probable given the lateral movement of the ball and Lunin's position that it moved from just shaving the edge of the line (as the graphic illustrates) to landing in the middle of it. It looked a much bigger movement than two and a half inches.

Edit: have just seen another angle and it looks pretty conclusive the ball was behind the line before Lunin got there.

There is one angle almost completely with the posts aligned and in the tiny gap between Lunin and the line, you can see the yellow of the ball and it disappears behind the post, meaning the whole ball wasn’t over the line. Because of the lack of goal line technology, we’ll never know for sure, but from the best angles I’ve seen, the ball was only about 80% over the line.
 
I know this is a bit “footballer in being tone deaf shocker”, but it’s an absolute cracker out of Ter Stegen all the same:

I know what you mean but to be honest I just think that he was referring to how much money there was in the world of football. A lot of independent media (not the Spanish sports media that get a lot of money from La Liga) are hammering the point of how Javier Tebas' high salary could comfortably cover goalline technology for a full season in all Spanish stadiums.
 
It still surprises me La Liga doesn't have goalline technology. Presumably the clubs that play in Europe have the kit installed already. Is there some reason not to switch it on for Liga matches?

I get that for some of the smaller, poorer clubs it would be expensive to setup but for the ones who have it, why not use it? Is it that expensive to calibrate/run each match? The English FA currently have a bodge for Cup matches that basically says "if the stadium is equipped for it, you use it." I guess people don't like the idea of that in La Liga.

He can't and he knows it. He's just playing for his base

Just heard Pique give a measured take on the episodes(penalty and ghost goal) on the podcast of Ibai Llanos.
 
Of note, this is the 3rd time this happened this season

Apparently the "official" reason why clubs and tebas don't want goal line tech is because it barely gets any use....

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad watched a Copa del Rey final they should have probably played in from the couch
