La Liga 2018/19

There's no chance it happens, it's the Barcelona media writing the same story every month of how Neymar is begging to come back to Barcelona so it makes them look good.

Barcelona can't afford his wages, it would be a terrible move for Neymar's legacy and PSG wold never sell. There's 0 chance of it happening and there's 0 chance the Barcelona media stop with the propaganda.

They had Yerry Mina and Vermaelen playing in defense in that game... this time they had Miranda and Brandariz.

Their defensive depth isn't good enough, the rest of the squad is perfect the way it is.

Good result in the end for Barca, they'll play their starters next time and make it through.

We have a decent depth with Pique, Umtiti, Lenglet, Vermaelen and Murillo. It's just absurd to field our newly arrived 5th choice CB with someone from our youth ranks.

Left back is a minor issue, but at least we took a gamble on 2 prospects for once in the last 5 seasons.

Didn't you see last season's game that cost them their unbeaten record in the league? Without Messi, but with Suárez, Coutinho, Dembélé, Rakitic and Iniesta starting they were down 5-1 at one point in the Ciutat de València.
Yeah, they don't a good depth overall. It's strange for a big team.

Valencia kicked out Batshuayi, who is going to join Monaco. Currently they don't seem to be interested in signing a new forward, which would indicate that marcelino is not going to see the end of the season. Overall they are a bit of a circus. I am not sure if it is a good decision to sack him, but there are certainly reasons to change something. Regardless, either you do it or you back the manager. Currenty they don't seem to be able to make up their mind. The bigger issue is that their forwards/creative players are way overrated.

Raul De Tomas is utter class, brilliant free kick as the Rayo revival continues.

Hopefully he'll stay the season but Madrid fans here's a young player scoring goals in La Liga and he hasn't even cost you 50m.

Well that was a good five minutes.

Forgot Ba was playing for Rayo tonight, worst defender in La Liga by a mile.

They have loads of attacking players in fairness. Parejo, Santi Mina, Gamiero, Guedes and Rodrigo Moreno all had good periods in La Liga but none of them have turned up this season so you get this low scoring team just plodding along in mid table.

Didn't Marcelino slaughter Bats for some miss he did in the cup game?

Nearly an R.D.T hat-trick, brilliant save by Celta keeper.

Great game this.

Celta look a complete mess. Wouldn't shock me if they go down. Where is Aspas?

Injured, read he won't be back in action before the end of the month.

Bad loss for them. They lack creativity without him especially as Sisto dosen't seem to have kicked on from his inital promise.

4-2....and even Bebe scores!!!

Three wins in a row for Rayo, this relegation fight is going to be brutal for everyone from 8th down in La Liga.

Pah, what a pass (was that Emiliano Velázquez?) and great composure by Bebé to decide it 4-2 to Rayo !
But the weight on that through ball was just crazy.

Especially Villarreal and Athletic are going to suffer. I can see Celta resurge to mid-table once Aspas returns.

I think Villareal will be o.k in the end (they always have stronger second half of seasons in their good years) and Bilbao are having a mini revival under Garitano.

Honestly couldn't call the bottom 3. Even Huesca have picked up lately although still a long shot for them as they're still way behind in the fight.

6 points separate 7th and 18th

4 games tomorrow Leganes v Huesca, Valencia v Valladolid, Girona v Alaves, Villarreal v Getafe

Munir to Sevilla for 1m. Thats fine with me simply because it means, that the club doesn't waste money on Morata. Maximilian Wöber (CB) from Ajax is coming as well. Hopefully the club is going to look for another midfielder and that would be a good winter transfer window.

Thought Munir will do well for them, was a bit in and out at Alaves and Valencia but sure he'll poach some goals at Sevilla the way they've been playing this season.

Huesca and Rayo would by my two picks, couldn't tell you the third though. I do hope Athletic and Villarreal manage to stay up. Maybe Leganés, or Valladolid despite their decent start.

Yep Valladolid are dropping like a stone. Will watch them v Valencia and see what they look like.

Leganes just beaten Huesca 1-0. Awful game but Leganes are fairly strong at home (4 points off Barca and Atletico Madrid after all).

Thing is there's so little between the teams that I can see form Rayo are in getting another 6-7 wins v likes of Huesca/Girona/Getafe/Levante/Espanyol and suddenly that's them reaching 40 points for the season and probable safety.

Rayo's next 6 games:

Home to Real Sociedad

Away to Alaves

Home to Leganes

Away to Espanyol

Home to Atletico Madrid

Away to Getafe

Home to Girona.

For a team that's just won 3 in a row I don't think it's beyond them to get 10-11 points form that run and suddenly they're on 30 points with still 12 games to play...

What an amazing FK by Valladolid.

Seemingly another game Valencia don't win and they don't score more than one goal, 17 all season is shocking.

Rodrigo has to be one of most overrated forward players I've seen, amazed some users on here thought he was good enough for Real Madrid.

Likely last minute winner for Getafe at Villareal. Wonderful chipped finish from Angel.

How bad is Funes Mori btw. Lunged to try to take out Angel and couldn't even bring him down.

After typing that Toko hits one of the worst penalties I've ever seen, tried to chip it and it goes miles off the bar.

All going wrong for Villareal this season.

Atletico so wasteful going forward. Griezmann so out of form as well, seemingly always making the wrong descison. I can see why they might be interested in Morata could suit them and he's an academy player originally.

Thing with Atletico is they have spent money this season not just on strikers. Lemar, Rodri, Gelson Martins and Arias should mean a more expansive style of play surely? Yet they seem to be scoring even fewer goals than in recent years.

Ateltico don't look right for sure. They're creating loads in this match but final ball and finishing poor. Griezmann's stats this season look ok, doesn't seem quite right though. World Cup hangover maybe.

Atletico in probably winning a game 1-0 through a set piece shock.
