La Liga 2018/19

Somebody was asking if we'll ever reach Madrid levels here recently, we can actually overtake them today if we at least draw

Terrible decision from Kroos to play that pass. Pin-point finish from Enrich, 2-0 Eibar.

The Barça loanee Cucurella causing RM unbelievable problems. Won the ball for the 2-0, now putting in a dangerous low cross for 3-0.

What a surprise if you appoint Solari successor.

Cucurella looks fantastic.

The guy in the other thread was right, I was wrong. Real are in trouble, they have done a calamitous mistake in hiring the wrong people. Absolutely shocking decisons at the highest level. It does take a special manager to control big clubs and big players

Real Madrid, lol. They've been woeful today, so many over-hit passes Modric looks gassed since the world cup. Courtois could have done better as well. Guess they'll be changing manager again this summer or before.

If Barcelona, Atleti, Sevilla and Valencia were at their usual level Madrid wouldn’t finish in the top 4 this season.

They got lucky that as they turned to complete shit, so did the others.

As much as I’m enjoying seeing Madrid suffer, I’m getting a special joy out of watching Curtois concede goal after goal after goal. After the way he weaseled his way out of Chelsea, he deserves every goal he concedes.

Also as an aside, I’ve really found myself enjoying La Liga a lot more than the PL this season. The PL used to be the league where the small teams could always upset one of the big boys, but this season I’ve enjoyed watching the smaller teams in Spain take the fight to the big teams, while the PL just seems to be full of cannon fodder.

Ha ha, feck off Madrid! Hope that club implodes! Would love it if they were plundered Monaco style at the end of the season.

Thought I'd have a look at the scoreline, saw 3-0 and was quite shocked.

You are not really comparing Monaco and Real :D

Can't say I don't share this sentiment.

I am surprised people are talking about Zidane and what not. For me, the real reason Madrid is experiencing a dip is the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo. In many ways, he was the soul of Madrid for many years. You don't lose a player of that stature, character, spirit and talent and remain the same for a while. He used to deliver something like an average of 40-50 goals a season or something like that? Apart from delivering on the pitch, Ronaldo scared opposition players and fans while he inspired his team mates and Madrid fans.

The same will happen to Barcelona when Messi leaves or retires. There will certainly be that momentary dip in form and fortunes.

Should be 6.
Madrid's defence has been worse than ours this season.

What a game of football by Eibar here. Press high and they are every where. So brave and so dominating, it shows you that you don't always need big names to produce attacking football. Amazing display.

This. A team with Ronaldo or messi automatically starts with an advantage. Barca are truly lucky that messi didn't throw a Ronaldo on them. Had Ronaldo never had his farce dream of Madrid and never left us we would have won atleast one more CL and would never have become mediocre.

It's crazy. The last three season I would have put Ramos and Varane easily in the top 5 defenders in the world but this year they don't even make the top 10 in La Liga, god awful.

And let's not even mention the state of Modric and Kroos.

Defense is probably the part of the team most dependent on tactics rather than individual quality. Doesn’t matter how good your defenders are if you don’t set the team up properly.
