La Liga 2018/19

Madrid have struggled away from the Bernabeu. Loss against Atleti in the supercup, draw vs Bilbao and against Girona they won 4-1 but they got very lucky to be gifted two penalties by a Girona defender when they were 1-0 down. That game could have easily ended very differently.

Didn't even know there was a game tonight and just saw the score..

At least Barca lost too I guess.

The players he played were Munir and Vermaelen at left back though. That’s the equivalent of starting the match with 9 players on the pitch.

That's also on him though. He could have moved Messi centrally and started say Malcolm, or maybe Coutinho on the left and Dembele on the right with someone else in central midfield. He's picking the team, so it's his responsibility alone. Playing a CB at left back is just a bad idea all around, especially in a system that is dependent on full back's attacking output.

Great game. I only started to watch 3 minutes into the second half, but there has already been plenty of action.

Why are you doing this for yourself ? We have enough disappointment in United already.

That's the reason I never supported more than one European club.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Inter since I watched R9 play for them when I was a child. Not going much better on that side of the pond either

20 minutes to go and Modric gets subbed off 2 days after winning the Best... you can’t make this up.

3-0 down to Sevilla and the players coming off the bench are Ceballos, Mariano and Lucas Vasquez... it’s simply not good enough. One injury to Bale and this Madrid team will have serious problems.

Madrid and Barca losing on the same day, wow. When was the last time something like that happened?

Agreed. We're missing Isco though but we should have bought Hazard and sold Vazquez in the summer.

Wonder if all the Madrid players flying to London impacted on them a bit. Not great build up.

Simeone needs to get his shit together cos there is a league title very much up for grabs

What a beating.I do not even know where to start. In three days Atlético. At least it is at home.
Cristobal Soria tonight

If Sevilla had been effective on the counter they could have easily scored 5 or 6

What's the consensus on Pablo Machin? Looks like he is doing a good job at Sevilla.

"Barca and Real thrash every team 6-0 week in week out. Shit league."
The Spanish League is by far the most interesting to me this season. Too bad though that my cable provider has pulled Bein Sports (La Liga broadcaster here) from it's line-up and I've found it hard to find streams unless it's for Barca and Real. I either have to go to a friends house or a bar but for the games that are on before 9am in my timezone I can't even watch them.

When will Madrid pull the gun and buy Hazard ? That will be great for everyone, for Madrid and for us.

The injuries of Gonalons and Amadou seem to be a blessing in disguise. The team looks so much better in the 352 compared to the 343. Both CFs struggle alone, but compliment each other quite nicely. Its also perfect for Vazquez. Banega is worldclass.

lopetegui is never going to last.

Valencia without a win? That's a shock.

Hoping Atletico can keep their great Bernabeu form up this weekend. They've had a good win and an extra days rest. Important to keep pace as Barca have started to drop points and will enter a more tricky looking run of fixtures.

Madrid look out of their depth defending against counters. I think Atletico can pull it.

Tbf there was a time like that around 2011 or 2012 where Barca won like 11-0 against Osasuna and where Madrid broke the goals record

These days though La Liga is very entertaining to watch, even when smaller sides are playing
