La Liga 2017/18

We can win la decimotercera, the third consecutive, which does not happen since the 70´s . The almighty can´t waste time with banalities like la liga.
This year we give it to you. How many would it be already? 30 ? :p. In addition next year there is VAR and there will be penalties against you, so enjoy while you can

Hopefully those same concepts apply when you play in Europe. :)

The difference is that Messi has to do everything at Barca, not only scoring. CR7 can count on Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, Isco, Bale and Benzema to assist him, instead.

Even though I mentioned them both, I did not mean to compare them. I was just pointing out that CRonaldo makes a huge comeback with his form during spring. This is the third concecutive season where he starts slow in autumn (and is heavily critisised), and yet in the end he becomes the difference between Real choking and Real winning the CL. I think that deserves cred for someone who is declining. :)

@Ishdalar You are spot on about the media, but that does not bother me. To be honest, Sevilla has to first reach Atletico level if we want bigger headlines about ourselves...
Considering where the state was between Barca and Real in the Super Cup, and then consider the possibility of Real doing el Pasillo at Camp Nou in late spring; I think there should be some big headlines. Headlines about Valverde and how this Barca team fought to win this La Liga title. At least there should be! I have not followed Chiringuito lately, (although I got a football segment with Pedrerol translated when Sevilla did Old Traffordazo) - but surely they have discussed Barca's season very often? Else, it would be shocking. And Messi never cease to amaze. I envy you fans who see these performances week in and week out as a normality.

Bit of old news, but Real Sociedad sacked Eusebio Sacristan. Currently 15th. This also means 11 managers have left this season (10 sackings and 1 resignation)

Real Sociedad had started well, then they have done crap.
They should be fighting for a place in the Europa League.

Eusebio is a very average managet tbh. Never liked it in Barcelona B.

They've quite a few important players for them so them reaching europa league places would be a huge success but I think it's highly unlikely so even been around mid-table, or slightly better, would be good for them.

I meant that you expected them to fight for the Europa League at the start season so they have had a bad one so far.

Yeah I guess so, they sold Yuri to PSG in the summer somewhat cheap but Eusebio was confident on covering for him I guess and they did well keeping not selling more despite being interest in several of their players. They also sold Vela but agreed to loan him until winter break (because of the different calendar of MLS) so it seemed they would be fine but in practice he was already gone as they decided not to play him and was barely featured in the team. So they lost two players in summer and didn't replace them properly (they tried Januzaj to be Vela's replacement but didn't work out). Now they lost Iñigo Martínez to Athletic (which is equivalent of Arsenal selling RVP to Manchester United lol) and wouldn't be surprised if they sold more players in summer if this keeps up.

Didnìt know they lost their best CB in january. Crazy move!

These videos were for a Ronaldo thread on reddit, and I'm sure that if we look at other goals, be it this year or before January, his impact would be even greater, I thought Zidane was just some guy fielding 11 expensive players on the pitch and keeping them happy, after benching Bale and keep Benzema I thought he was just another biased coach, but now I think he has been noticing something most people don't, and that he probably has been tinkering with this for months, maybe a whole year. He's way better than what I personally gave him credit for.

How's Zidane 'biased' for picking an in-form Lucas Vazquez, who has been great since the new year, ahead of Bale?

Your assessment regarding Benzema is hardly a groundbreaking relevation for anyone who actually pay attention for the the work he does on the field instead of blindly looking on the amount of goals. Benzema has been indirectly involved around nearly a 3rd of RM's total goalscoring production this season, which I've once made a list after going through each of RM's goals for a while ago.

No, he really has not. He's been gash most of the time

 come on, man. You can't say that with a straight face. He had a better game tonight than he had all season. And it was still nothing to rave about at all.

The fact is, he should finish more chances as our main striker.

Ronaldo gets his 4th, the guy is a machine

Wrong. Cristiano is the actual main striker and being the receiving end for Real Madrid's attacking play. Benzema is more of an attacking midfielder with the main task to create chances. Benzema hardly stays inside the penalty box and doesn't take much shots from there, only nearly 40 shots (1.6 per game) in La Liga and we're at April.

Comparing with Cristiano scoring a poker (4 goals), then it's understandable that Benz's own performance is overshadowed.

Among with Cristiano and Kroos, he was the best player against Girona.

Benzema has had several great or good individual performances throughout this season (against Man Utd, Barca, Deportivo, Eibar, Getafe, Tottenham) but these events seems to have been compeletly forgotten for you and @giorno .

Okay, dude. Benz for Ballon D'or.

Benzema is a very good striker, technically one of the best, knows how to hold the ball, get out of pressure situations, combine actively, and sees well the spaces.
However, despite all that he could do much better .
I can understand that Zidane wants to defend him in the worst moments, but even considering that, he has played in excess.
It is assumed that a Madrid player has to be at a superior level, not just do it well, reason why there are perennial doubts with Varane or Bale.
During those games given to him by Zidane there was apathy, incredible failures in front of the goal, and even clumsiness with the ball.
For any player that wants to come to Madrid that lack of meritocracy is not a good example.
Surely Isco,Asensio or Lucas wonder why he has to play always despite his average performances.

Awesome. He's had 6 good/great games out of 50. Give him the balon d'or

Bale's still scored a few this year despite missing half the games.

I assume the plan is to cash in end of season so probably good news him picking up form.

By his face in the last games you could see concern and anxiety. Today was a very important match for him, I think 400 matches with Madrid and captain for the first time.
Missing the penalty would have been too much

Wow! That they are playing so badly because Messi isn't playing didn't even cross my mind, to be honest; mainly, because I'd expect any top team to still manufacture a good display without their star player. To be honest, I can't even remember a top team depending on a single player that much in my lifetime.

Sevilla away isn't easy let's not forget. On paper it will be in Barca's top 5 toughest La Liga games along with both Madrid, Valencia and Villareal (away from home).

I really don't think it's been a vintage Barca this year despite their big lead. Many matches they've just scraped through when in previous seasons they'd have won by 3 or 4.

Would be very odd if this version went the whole season unbeaten compared to their 2009 and 11 teams.
