La Liga 2017/18

Is Countinho cup tied in the CL?

Messi just genius he is super human. Barca is unstoppable front four are ridiculous Messi-Suarez-Coutinho-Dembele.

Nothing to say when a good side like Girona got hammered in this way.

Meanwhile, Real are back in form when it matters.

Dembele and Coutinho finally looked like they believed they belonged at Barca. Excellent performances from the entire team but that front 4 were particular standouts.

If Coutinho was eligible for CL I'd have them favourites.

Costa got booked for running into the back of a Sevilla defender and basically rolling around, then goes and scores. 0-1. Want a horrible bloke.

Horrible bloke, good player though.

Almost got expelled due to a Correa diving now.

Wow, quite embarrassing to compare us with this Atlético performance.

Sevilla were trying to run riot in the first minutes but Atlético tamed them ruthlessly.

Costa now wins a penalty. Getting worse for Sevilla. Atletico's first penalty of the season. Griezmann scores his second goal. 0-3.

If we had seen this performance first, we might have actually tried to score.

Funniest part, after reading this week so many things about squad depth, why benching Pogba to get some muscle defending or the need of wing players in the Sevilla vs Utd posts, here comes Simeone, puts a midfield with 4 all-purpose midfielders and destroys them.

Imagine saying "nah we should just field McTominay, Ander, Matic and Pogba", blood would've been spilled

Let's not read too much into this loss. We won against this Atletico side in both games in the copa del rey, yet I could see this easy loss of tonight coming miles away. Berizzo's problem was that he rotated like an unsettled maniac, and Montella's problem is the opposite; the italian seems to think that the squad only consist of 11 players. He has played with the same eleven so many times, that many of our key players are already worn out, unfocused and worst of all; the injuries. Navas - who has been a tremendous rb so far - seems to be badly injured. I have no doubts that the injury, and the loss of tonight, is all down to Montella refusing to rest 1-3 players every now and then.

United will meet a tired, worn out, Sevilla side, with several players on the brink of being injured. If Mourinho can't strategically beat this Sevilla side, then he should just resign right then and there.
Well, he should have almost resigned after the first leg...

Amazing what can happen when you try and attack this Sevilla team :D:wenger:

I am not sure, but I think this is the fifth time this season that Sevilla has let in five goals. Currently, we have let in more goals than Malaga that are at last place. And we're against them this wednesday. :nervous:

The only strategy what we've got is to sit back, shit our bed and hope we get a lucky break. Really angry after Atletico has put things into the perspective, sick of this reactionary bullocks.

Spartak, Real Madrid, Real Betis, Eibar and Atletico. We have let in 5 goals vs each of these teams. What a list...

Yeah, I was actually shocked that we kept clean sheet vs United. Not that United ever attempted to threaten us, but the story of this season has been that our defence usually finds a way of giving gifts to the opponent. Mourinho showed too much respect to a side that has been in crisis entire season; as much as Sevilla were inspired and played well, Mournho did set up a complete sh*t performance from his side.

Sometimes it is fine to hear an objective opinion from outside. It would have been completely OK by me if you would be flying and coming into the game in a hot form, fair enough that instead it was such a perfect opportunity missed to give us a chance to concentrate on the Liverpool game, which is right before the 2nd leg. Oh well, United - always the hard way it is in our DNA.

This Seville side are like a roller coaster: they look to have finally stepped up, play very well and them boom! they collapse.

We knew Seville is an average team. But what we did not know is that United would go there and park the bus. What a disgrace our performance was at Wednesday against them.

That is not an optimal schedule. Sevilla will play Valencia right before the second leg, so it is not really optimal for us either. Considering Montella's obsession of playing the same eleven 2 times per week, in every week... I just hope we can make it exciting, but don't know if I would asking be too much. It is yet too early to guess the outcome of the second leg since it is 2-3 weeks left. But Sevilla are (unfortunately) not the same team away, and United can impossibly be the team they were last week.

Seville were utter shite last night. Banega was like two completely different players as he was class against us and atrocious against Atletico.
