La Liga 2017/18

Is Lendoiro still the President?
No, Tino Fernández is the president from 2014. Lendoiro had many problems because he hid the economic situation of the club, which was saved thanks to pacts with the Treasury, however he remains in the shadow (something like Del Nido in Sevilla) and has requested early elections for June

Depor needs to find someone with new ideas, don't know how it is now with Celta, certainly would be good for La Liga having 2 stronger clubs from Galicia.

Depor were dreadful. No good having reasonably decent strikers if there's no quality in midfield to get the ball to them. And they're terrible at the back.

Can't see them staying up this year.

Yeeeesh. Gabi. Really disappointing from Ander

Btw, at this point they're just waiting for us to sign De Gea and make Isco our main man to sentence them both to jail for the Torbe case aren't they? :(

A joke, in 2015 the Osasuna - Espanyol had more evidence about the fixing and they ended up filing it. No one cared about Sergio Garcia winning the lottery 4 times in the same day, outrageous bets, Aguirre benching his best player on the field and Osasuna being unable to account what did they spend the amount of money they withdrew from their foundation.

The only difference between the Serie A and La Liga is that in Italy, sometimes they do something against match fixing and pressuring/buying referees.

yes, that one is as well a good example. In this case there are good proofs. Players withdrawing money and admitting that they did, like Gabi. Agapito saying "I take care of the last 8 games".
I remember that the end of that season was taken for granted that Zaragoza were going to win certain games.
Every season there are suspicious matches, with money or simply with teams that are happy the draw , or don´t care too much about winning or losing (Girona last year)

What's up with Girona? Never thought they would have had such a wonderful season. They are very close to the Europa League zone.

I was going to mention that Girona game last season.

Needed a win on the last day, scored an early goal and from being decent odds for more goals within ten minutes the odds had dropped to miles odds on it would finish 1-0. Which it duly did.

I didn't watch the game but apparently for sixty minutes both teams just passed the ball around the edge of their own boxes or something.

So anyone watching the Sevilla game then.....;)

Navas at right back, is that permanent now?

Not necessarily. Currently Mercado has to play as CB, because the alternatives are injured or suck. Corchia isn't setting the world on fire to say the least. Navas is fairly reliable, so currently he is a good choice. The fullback situation is ridiculous. We have three left backs: escudero, Carole and Arana. Carole was a fairly pointless signing. Not good enough. Arana was a fairly expansive (and apparently rated) talent, but he doesn't even make the matchday squad (he was purchased in winter!). Now layun is playing lb. I guess Arias loves buying leftbacks.
I am still irritated by the transfer of roque Mesa (instead of an OM, CB, winger or quality RB). Currently the direction of the club with the new DoF is a tiny bit worrying.

I think we are talking about different games.
I mean Girona-Zaragoza.
Girona needed a point to be in Primera and a draw was also enough for Zaragoza.
Of course the match finished 0-0

Montella's tactics at Sevilla are pretty basic of how a team should play on the counter. Their quick and simple transitions makes it look really enjoyable on the eye. Paco Jemez on the other hand continues to look like a bad Guardiola wannabe..always playing too open and naive..

Sevilla well on top, should be more goals infront.

They are just running through Las Palmas's central midfield.

You are correct Carvajal, it was 0-0.

At the start of the game the odds for 0-0 were about 9 or 10/1.

Within 10 minutes they'd dropped dramatically to 5/4.

:nervous: Seems like they picked up some form just in time for our game.

Man. United will comfortably win over two legs (away leg will be tight of course).

Since Montella have come in they've conceded 5 at home to Betis and 5 at Eibar.

They're much poorer at the back than last season.

Calleri 2-1 from the spot, the wonderkid Halilovic earning the penalty
FT 2-1 Sevilla get the 3 points, their defence is bad, we should easily beat them even in their stadium

That seemed such an uninspiring choice. He was not great at Milan.

It won't be comfortable at all. This reminds me of Celta Vigo last season. On paper we should walk all over them, but Jose will set up to defend, giving Sevilla control of the game, and we saw in Juve/Spurs what happens when you give the other team too much of the ball. If there's one tie in this round that has the potential for upset, it's ours (not because we're poor, but because we'll hand the impetus to Sevilla).

From reddit: 33rd time Barcelona hits the woodwork, 16 from Messi alone

Barca have €300m worth of talent on the bench in Dembele and Countinho.

Edit: sorry, added an extra 'o' in his name.
