La Liga 2017/18

Have to be honest, I thought Barcelona would get shown up this season, but looks like I was wrong.

Good watch as usual.

How are they more suited to cup than league campaigns?
Because we rely on sheer talent without any particular team chemistry. It's easier for sheer talent to shine through in individual games than over the course of 38. Fewer games, and more opponents who try to match talent with talent of their own. We can be overwhelming when everyone's firing, but we lack the chemistry and with it the organization to create a platform to perform consistently

With all that said, see my previous posts about our recent league failures

Fans after the match. In short: Not the day to leave Isco in the bench/Benzema

Barca being the best defensive team in Europe should bode well for their CL chances. People have forgotten about Dembele but he will give them a lot more pace and I’ll be curious to see who they sign in January.

Valverde is the most underrated manager in Europe right now.

He's doing an extraordinary job, I agree.

So Liga fixtures for next month are out and Barca are away to Betis on the day I'm in Seville so hoping to catch the game. However, Betis don't sell tickets on their site and tickets on the likes of Viagogo and stubhub etc are pretty exorbitant. Isn't there any way to get tickets in the home section without having to go to their ticketing office to buy? Thanks in advance guys!

You can check in www.milanuncios.com and a app called wallapop.Simply writing Betis you will see people selling the "carnet de abonado"/"abono" ( annual ticket)for that match.
You would have to meet with them before the match,to pass the card through security.
If those ad webs are too complicate you can go the day before the match to the stadium,to agree with someone for the next day.
Now they are selling for 70/80€ each more or less.
With the tickets would be the same but maybe more expensive with the risk of getting fake tickets(happened in el clásico)
If in internet you can get them for 90/100 each I would take it

So I searched on the site and wallapop and didn't really get anything. I think I'll probably have to search deeper and more carefully.
I'll be reaching the city on the day of the match though so meeting a day in advance would be a bit tough.
As for price, if it were 90/100 I'd pay it also but viagogo and co are selling it for over 150 and that's a bit too much to pay.
My other hope is praying the Barca Alaves game is on the day I'm in Barcelona as that's barely 20-50 euros on the barca site.

I found one. He offers 4 abonos, 80 euros each.
https://www.milanuncios.com/entradas-de-futbol/real-betis-vs-barcelona-252649788.htm
So maybe you could get 1,2 or the number that you need. Anyway I will have a look these days and will let you know if I find something.
If you need help with spanish write pm and I´ll translate for you.

Thank you so much! 80 euros seems reasonable enough compared to other prices I'm seeing online. I'll search if I can get even lower.

So the Barcelona Alaves timing Is out and I won't be able to make it as I'm not in town that day so the Betis Barca match is the one I can catch so I'll definitely have to go via this site.
I contacted the fellow on the link you sent but yet to receive an reply. Other than this and buying at the ticket office, no other way right?

I have no idea. When I want to go to stadium I always used that method.
Try to contact Betis here: taquillas@realbetisbalompie
Maybe they'll give you some alternative.

Yeah so I've contacted this fellow and around 3 others I've found on this site. They do sound genuine but I just don't want to be scammed. Is it normal procedure to transfer some/half the amount via PayPal in advance because they need to transfer the name in my name 4 days before the match. Something about authorisation?
I'm getting them all for around 80 euros which seems fair enough. It's more expensive on other sites.

Yes, it seems that is a system called "prestamo de abono", for which you will receive a ticket in your email once he fills some info with your name.
You can check in these links, I think they are talking about that.

Yeah it's done to authorise the buyer. Seems like a number of options to buy from. Do the match dates often change? Because the date is currently set for the Sunday (happend some days ago). I'm hoping it doesn't change to the Saturday last minute because I won't be in town then.
Thanks for all the help btw, you've been really helpful!

Also the Barca fans, @FCBarca @Ishdalar etc, do you guys go for any away games?

You are welcome, enjoy the game. No, the dates won´t change

Only time I've seen Barcelona away from Camp Nou was in a friendly. Would like to see them against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge but imagine tickets won't be easy, I have a UEFA contact that might be able to work something out for me but generally I haven't had much desire to see away matches in the Primera

"The little airplane" officially our new manager. His assistant will be the Sevilla legend Enzo Maresca.

I am quite pessimistic with this choice of manager.

But one should keep in mind that Montella is getting thrown in the fire of mid season, and is taking responsibility of a team that is assembled for Berizzo and not him. And he got nothing to lose either, since a failure here will be more critisism towards Castro & Arias, rather than himself.

This is the first non-spanish-speaking Sevilla manager in 12 years I believe.

Really bizarre 6 months for Sevilla since losing Monchi, capped off by the uninspiring choice of a foreign replacement to the new hire stricken with cancer (And unceremoniously fired) while still battling it out in the middle of multiple competitions

Odds are, this won't end well

Heh, dunno, Montella's good and the team seems to fit him well. It's really more a matter of wether he can build a good relationship with the players or not

The Copa del Rey round of 16 first leg takes place today and tomorrow. Diego Costa and Montella make their debut.

Interesting choice.

He created quite a good team to watch at Fiorentina, less so at Milan but obviously expectations there went crazy pre season.

Sevilla's transfer strategy wasn't good enough in the summer, Kjaer has been overrated all his career as a defender, Navas is past his best. Murel and Nolito looked o.k signings but neither seems to have made a significant impact so far.

Compared to who Valencia signed it was very much second rate for a champions league side.

First thing he could do is try to get N'Zonzi back on side, is it still the expectation he'll leave?

Atletico win, with Diego Costa on the scoresheet again. Think he is gonna solve their attacking problems so badly. Alaves and Seville win as well, while Valencia draw.

Watched Seville's first half and i can't judge Montella. They scored two piss poor easy goals. Cadiz were like 2/3 levels below them.

Well, as soon as Montella arrived N'Zonzi was back at training with the team. He played against Cadiz too, so there's chance that he could stay after all.

I think that our transfers regarding the midfield and attack been good on beforehand, despite the loss of Vitolo. But more or less the entire squad has not reached its potential, or been close to do so.

Now there are lot of rumours of Sevilla expecting to do 1-2 signings, one of them being Jovetic (fingers crossed)

The defense though...It looked bad on beforehand and it has been as bad as it looks on paper. However, the team's overall defensive game has been awful.

The Segunda Division looks very poor. You should consider Cadiz are 2nd, but it was just a training for Seville yesterday. The Championship is much more competitive.

Girona, Getafe and Levante all clear of relegation zone halfway through.

Getafe and Levante are used to play in La Liga. Girona are good surprise, instead. Didn't think they could be so high in the table at this point of the season.

Meanwhile, Real, Leganes and Espanyol win in the Copa del Rey, while Barca draw.

Diego Costa is in Spain for one week and already involved in a brawl/shoving match againt Getafe:lol:

I am recording the 2nd half of this game as I knew from what happened in the first half that someone was going to get sent off. Not expecting it to be for celebrating a goal.:lol:

It's great to see Costa back in la liga.Pity that he won't face Pepe in the derby
