Real are much better these days, tbf.
Not really, they got a bit lucky in couple of Liga matches (late winners, missed penalties), and that's the difference. Barcelona pretty much dominated them and should have won. They are resilient though, and never give up. But their play is nothing spectacular, there are many games where they concede chance after chance, and it is a matter of time they start losing points.

It's really sad watching Neymar putting on such a shite display. Huge fan of him, maybe he needs a change of scenery...somewhere colder, wetter, more windy...

Stoke?

Barcelona might need to switch their system if Messi refuses to play out wide. They have no right side.

And as much as I think Rakitic is overrated, Gomes is very average.

Barca a poor's man Tony Pulis these days.

What the hell has happened to this team. This is basically the exact same XI that won the treble 1.5 years ago, minus Dani.

Their squad depth is insane, they can have Morata, James, Isco and Varane in the bench and wouldn't sweat it. If Zidane keeps managing to control all those egos he can show them the tactical instructions on a game boy and would still be contenders to everything

Busquets has been rather poor overall this season.

Alves is a much better attacking threat than Roberto too obviously.

I think part of the issue is Enrique has given a bit too much freedom to Messi. You have nothing on the right side.

Messi has to transition to Iniesta's position sooner or later, maybe he'll be our next Iniesta on the right side and a more defensive minded player were Iniesta plays now

And Rakitic, Alba, Mascherano is also two years older and we lack Xavi as a sub, he wasn't a 90 minute player anymore but he still had a huge impact that season

Villareal defending well. Can see them getting a few chances on the counter and knicking it in the second half. Fingers crossed.

We should get Sampaoli. Lucho is not the tactician his treble suggests

Exactly! Prove he can do it on a Tuesday night, unlike Messi.

In all seriousness though I would love to have him here. I know that a few Barca supporters are not convinced at all that he'll stay for long, especially given the tax issues. What's your view? Do you think he could leave sometime soon?

I don't think is an attitude problem, he's been benched of left out of the list and never moaned even when Luis Enrique doesn't give him reasons, when he plays he and Sergi Roberto have the best work rate in the team, and he's still our 2nd best midfield only behind Iniesta.

Maybe Lucho benched him to see if he could motivate him more, then teams starting to ask for him and the club might think is a good idea to sell a 28 y/o player for a profit when we have Iniesta, Gomes, Rafinha, Dennis and even Arda to play in the midfield, I don't think that's wise
I guess that if they sell now they'll try to sign someone like Weigl in the summer, always thinking that Gomes will step up.I also heard something about Arda and a chinese club but I think that you won't be so lucky :D

Average is a compliment to Gomes tbf, Rafinha and Dennis have been average, he's worse than that

Could get a right sided attacker and play Messi behind Suarez if Messi's insistence on playing central continues.

Might be a problem defensively though.

I don't think there's much difference in quality. Real may have more depth, but Barca has better first 11. Real will always be better at playing route one, individualistic football, as they defend more conservatively and are more physical. Barca still somewhat tries to maintain possession style, which is more demanding, and must be systematic and intense to work. But it's just not there anymore.

I think he will stay here until 2020, then move back to his home club in Argentina.

But anything is possible and I would certainly not put it past the reals of possibility if Leo wants a fresh change and play in the Prem. With that being said, I don't think he would play for a Mourinho team. I think he's more likely to play for City because of Pep.

Although then again, he probably sees United as a much more prestigious club than City, so who knows.

Dybala, we must get him this summer.

He has the discipline to play on the right side and his workrate is great by our attackers' standards.

This might strike people as radical, but I think we'd be lucky if Neymar got tfo for some games and Arda started in his position. Gomes is a cross we'll bear for a couple of seasons, this board will never admit that "stealing" him from Madrid was one of our worst mistakes.

Sorry mate, I meant Neymar!

Are they? Real during Guradiolas time (excluding the first season) have been an incredible team which can also be seen by them finishing the 3 seasons with 92, 96 and even 100 points. That's just brutal. They also scored more than 100 goals each season.

His dribbling style is more suited in the middle than out wide. He peels away to the right often but that's a bit different than starting there.

Well, we could swap Gomes x Toni Valencia and we would win with that trade :D

I think he's more likely to leave than Messi, since he is not as affiliated with the club as Leo is. Barcelona basically saved and made Messi's career (paid for his medical bills and hormone treatment, gave him the opportunities to shine on the biggest stage, etc...). Barca hasn't done that for Neymar.

I could see Neymar moving to the Prem in the future for some absolutely enormous money, and United have as much of a chance as anyone else.

But the thing is, I think that we have already seen the best of Neymar in 2015. Most Barca fans laugh at this idea, but the reality is that since late-2015 Neymar has not improved in the slightest (if anything he's gone somewhat downhill). He is Brazilian and he loves to party, which is always a bad sign. And despite his incredible natural talent, I also don't think he is as obsessed with being the best as Messi or Ronaldo are.

This is just my opinion, and I'd love to be proved wrong, but I don't think that Neymar is going to improve anymore.

I think he'd improve if he left Barcelona. He needs to be the main man IMO.

Would you agree that Neymar's best form at Barcelona has happened with Messi out of the team? That's my feeling. Late 2015, he was arguably the best player in the world.

Age, lack of motivation, form...don't think they're training well at all
