I think it's time for Barca to sell Suarez & sign a more clinical striker. He's 30 in a few weeks & is one of the worst athletes out there so it makes even more sense.

Ah. And what player did you have in mind?

How come this Messi didn't show up against Real.

From what I can tell, RM have done a good job of suffocating the service into him since Zidane took over... that said he's had an equally anonymous game just before that against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta, the only difference was that he took his one chance in that game and didn't in the one against RM.

What does "worst athlete" mean for you here ? As soon as a player hits 30, doesn't mean a replacement has to be looked for immediately. People are obsessed with age.

What a crazy finish to the game

First Valencia go down to 10 men, still go close to equalising, then get hit by La Real with a great counter gorgeously set on a plate by Vela for Juanmi to make it 3-1... then Valencia immediately fire back thru Bakkali. 3-2 in injury time with a minute still to go.

Play currently stopped with an injury to Rulli

Oh and by the way, Diego Alves saved another pen (from Vela). Insane.

edit:
what that means for the 47 penalties he's faced in Spanish football :
- 23 saved
- 22 scored
- 1 hit the bar
- 1 off target

Real Madrid starting lineup:
Keylor; Danilo, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho; Kroos, Casemiro, Isco; Asensio, Morata y James.

James had to score that wow.
Deportivo have had the better chances so far. These are the types of games James needs to show he deserves to start more. No Cristiano, Benzema, or Bale.

La Real keep making Anoeta their fortress... but they got spanked by Depor away last week.

Brilliant finish but poor from casemiro who should've used the GK

Wish we'd have kept him. Hughes' hard on for Peter Crouch is the reason Joselu is in the position to score two against Real Madrid.

Zidane surely regretting not at least putting Cristiano on the bench.

Mariano on for Isco. I don't know how many of the changes in the starting lineup are down to injuries, but Madrid looking very flat (as well as error prone). I guess the idea was that the squad playerss would feel like they had something to play for and do that much more, but there's a bit of a "gone home for Christmas" feel about it.
