He's one on one with the goalkeeper, it's practically the final kick of the game and his team are winning. Also he hadn't scored, have no problem with him going for goal.

Regardless of the circumstances, it's always about the club, not the individual. Or at least it should be.

Can you imagine the shit fit Ronaldo would have thrown if the roles had been reversed?

Ridiculous that even in victory, he had to be consoled by others because he was so damn depressed about not scoring. FFS!

he already refused to pass in the middle and went for the goal from a ridiculous angle earlier, when two people were read to finish from 2m away. I'd go berserk as team mate.

Good week for Madrid thanks to the late goal. It would have been disappointing to lose 2 points to Barsa while playing at home.
The good part: the good game of Isco,Kovacic who is playing quite well and Morata, always hungry and bringing fresh Air.
The bad,the feeling that the team is very inconsistent, without a plan and depending on comebacks that won't be successful against better teams, and of course Cristiano who continues his bad moment.
I think that he will be back for the important games but right now it seems a very unconvincing ballon dor

So that was one of the most frustrating wins I have ever witnessed at Madrid. Subbing Isco off when he was our best player, leaving Ronaldo and Bale for the full game, despite them prob being our worst players. So thankful for Morata right now.

That being said, Atletico lost (wewt) which means we are now top of La Liga and currently on a 24 game unbeaten streak.

The stats, good and bad:
4 - Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to score in four games in a row at Santiago Bernabeu for the first time (all competitions).
3 - Álvaro Morata has scored more goals as a substitute than any other La Liga player this season (all competitions).
31 - Isco has made 31 assists since 2013/14 season, more than any other Real Madrid midfielder (all competitions).
7 - Only against Granada (9) Karim Benzema has scored more goals than against Athletic (7) in La Liga.

Not the biggest fan of Ronaldo's antics usually but you can't blame the guy for having a go there.

what was that waving from Ronaldo after Morata's goal? he wanted ref to disallow it or what?

and then people bring up stats to compare him to ronaldo nazario on the other thread

one is obsessed by them, the other isn't.. its retarded to compare the old guys to him when stats were irrelevant before

Guti: "Cristiano is cheering at the goal & looks towards the linesman hoping it wasn't called offside."

Common sense

I know it doesn't apply in Spain but in a league where it can be won and lost on GD you'd be absolutely fuming with him for what he did.

Phonier awards than Ballon D'Or
Only Modric won something for Madrid if you mean that. Griezmann best player, Messi best striker and Godín best defense. Saúl should have won the revelation player instead Asensio

Luis Suarez is the best non European player while Griezmann is the best player?

And Messi is the best striker? Farcical.

Pique & Lucho not even a consideration when they won the domestic double?

2014 Atletico won the league but got no awards. 2016 finished 3rd and got most big awards. Real Madrid 2014, 3rd got them all.

It's intended to pat one another on the back in the capital, where one League title has been won in the last 8 seasons. As Geri correctly pointed out, just another day at the office

How are you surprised anymore, these awards have always been a joke lol

Only surprise is that CR didn't pick up some new award. Even Marca's online poll had Messi as the best player in La Liga

Hard to fault it, Suarez was better in La Liga and he won the trophy. I still think Ronaldo was second best in La Liga last season with his 36 goals and 11 assists, but he didn't win the trophy so he shouldn't get the accolades.

Please stop obsessing with stats

god damn we turned into American fanbase

"Player X got 12 goals and 8 assists.. he was better than player Y who got 10 goals and 5 assists"

no... it doesn't fecking work like that

this isn't basketball where only the final product matters.. actually its the most irrelevant part of the build up

Actually it was more the fact that on February 28th Barcelona were a full 12 points ahead of us. We were dead and buried with no chance of coming back. From that date to the end of the La Liga season Ronaldo scored 13 goals and 3 assists in 10 games, helping us to win all 10 he played in, including scoring away to Barcelona, helping us cut the lead to a single point, It wasn't enough but it was a hell of a run and a lot was to do with Cristiano's performances.

So please take the hybebole put it in a bottle and throw it out the kitchen window.

Due to the mess that was our game vs Chelsea, Sevilla's result against Atletico went right over my head. Brilliant! I'm really loving this team Sampaoli is creating.

I start to believe. Sampaoli is a god. Love him.
The more the merrier! :D

All hell has broken loose between Barcelona and the Spanish football federations competition committee. The latter has described the behaviour of some Barcelona players in Valencia as 'ridiculous' in regards to bottle as hand grenade incident. Barcelona predictably is furious at what they regard as a minimizing of the crowds behaviour and some like former Barsa president Gaspart are asking for an apology from the federation (and of course it's a Real Madrid conspiracy! LOL).

I think the Spanish FA should've started by saying that they don't condone throwing bottles at players, before blasting the players. But ofcourse it's perhaps even smarter to just refrain from commenting at all as a supposedly objective party.

That being said, I admire Barca's team spirit. One of them get hits by a bottle and the guys around him feel the pain and go down as well. Kudos to Enrique.

Interesting game tonight, Leganés vs la Real. Leganés has yet to win at home.

Couple of notable Sevilla stats, under Sampaoli:
  • Sevilla is the team that has recovered the ball most, of all teams in la liga: at the moment 527 times.
  • Of the big games that been played so far, which were vs Juventus (away), Villarreal (away), Lyon (home), Atletico (home), Sevilla have kept clean sheet in all of them.
  • Roma and Sevilla are the teams that have won every home game so far, of the 5 biggest leagues in Europe.

However, in two weeks Sevilla are against Barca (at Pizjuan), so the stats above only look cool for now. We will probably be back on earth after the game vs Barca...

No, just no. You need to continue till after the Barca game at least!

Not a fun start of the week. Only 1-1 away vs Sporting. Sevilla had plenty of chances to kill the game, but Sporting fought well eventually. I guess Sevilla are 4th or 5th after this week. What sucks more than the result is Nasri's injury. Hope he can make it to barca game, but doubt it.

@Vato Yeah, it would be wonderful if Sevilla beat Barca, but I doubt it. I think a draw is more likely, if not a loss.

In the past was a mistake for small teams to score the first goal they used to be destroyed, I think mou was the manager at that time. I lost all the interest in the la liga, I don't even tape the games anymore from rm and Barca.

This game will probably be different, but Alaves won in the Camp Nou and got a draw away against Atletico, they have earned some credibility.

Penaldo for Real?

Ronaldo penalty to tie it 1-1.

Pepe out for Nacho with injury now. Lots of injury for Real now. Ramos and Pepe out
