It is this and it's a major shame really, we saw this a lot from Bilbao players hacking Neymar down whenever they get a chance, especially off the ball. Yes, it's a clash of cultures but in terms of football its intended to bring entertainment to the fans & teammates rather than an attempt to humiliate or ridicule

The idea of hacking down players is to get to them, it's one of the few weapons poor teams have against the mighty Barcelona with all their world class players.

It's up to the referee to punish it, and it's easy to say "play the game" when your team is the one with 3 of the 4 best players in the world in it and a lot of other great players. Leganes can't play with Barcelona in any way, their best chance is to be bullies and hope the best.

I like this Atletico formation. It's not overly defensive against small teams. They have Saul + Koke in the middle with Carrasco + Gaitan as wingers and Gameiro + Griezmann as strikers.
