La Liga - 2014/15

ps : they are leading 3-0

spoiled fans

that post was when we were just leading 1-0 :p , but we are spoiled indeed :D

Seriously we lost a lot of our talent , the players seem lazy and out of ideas. We have't played any big names yet and we struggled against the likes of APOEL , Malaga and Levante until their defender was sent off. I hope I'm wrong

And make that 5-0. Again Messi to Neymar. Seems like they are showing this season that all those who doubted those two could work together were wrong.

Worth noting it seems Neymar is playing the one to statpad. Shooting on sight, whereras Messi is the one creating everything for the forwards.

I'd be interested to see chances created in La Liga this season. Reckon Messi would be well out on his own. Munir could have had about five or six in his appearances through him alone if he had a bit more composure in front of goal.

You guys still just had to win a home fixture to be champions last season, but bottled it. And dismantled the mighty City even being lazy etc etc

huge potential still

Messi's now avering 2 goals/assists per game this season.

6 apps, 5 goals, 7 assists.

Been flicking between this game and the London derby but thought Barcelona have played some really nice stuff.

Fantastic to see Messi win the ball back there, been a few seasons since we seen that regularly.

Yeah true. Messi has become their main chance creator it seems and not their main finisher anymore.

Still manages to get 2 goals. :D

Remind me to state how shit we are before every match starts.

Looks back to form since this season started, except he's playing in a much more creative role. Average game for him in the CL last week and a bit anonymous against Malaga, otherwise he's been the stand out player in the league this season.

In fact, overall Barcelona have scored 18 goals in La Liga and the CL... Messi has contributed to 12 of them either by scoring or creating the goal!

Suarez is an interesting one, he's much more elusive than Neymar, and he was a real creative force for Liverpool last season despite scoring 30+ himself. All three could end up beating the scoring records set by Messi/Henry/Eto'o and Messi/Villa/Pedro.

By the way am I just imagining it or does Messi finally look really fit again after seemingly struggling with fitness for the last 1 1/2 years? There were times he was dragging himself over the field it seemed but this season he seems to full of energy again leading most of Barcas attacking play. Seems like Luis Enrique has managed to get Messi back in great physical shape again.

Injuries healed, pressure of doing a Maradona for Argentina also gone.

Playing with more freedom.

14 actually, it was also his shot through the GK's legs that created the 1-0 v Villarreal and his through ball that rebounded into Neymar's path for the 3-0 today. (although purely in terms of goals/assists 12 is right)

Yep, he has more key passes (30) than shots (26) so far this season, which is telling enough on its own.

Indeed. So 14 of their 18 goals, that's staggering. Not a huge fan of Barcelona but i'm actually looking forward to Suarez getting in on the act. I hope they give Real Madrid a good tanking.

Is a typical South American able to cheer for the forward line of Brazil (Neymar), Argentina (Messi) and Uruguay (Suarez)?

Rivalries don't exist with player nationality, only when they have the national team jersey on of course

no problem with that, the same way i had no problem cheering for anderson, the da silva brothers, forlan, and tevez :)
From a non-fan POV. You support United. I'm talking from the "watching-football-as-a-neutral" POV.

The star from each country. Two of them easily detestable with the on the pitch antics (perhaps a moot point regarding S-Americans because they seem to care for those antics).

As a neutral I could never stand watching England. Terry, Carragher, Lampard, Gerrard, Cole etc. Didn't matter how many United players were in the team.

The quality of Barcelona's attacking players... getting a bit out of hand now.

I mean, our attackers are no slouches, but Messi and Neymar are on another level, and they have Hannibal Lecter joining them in October as well.

i dont find Neymar detestable at all, i do find Suarez very hard to stand, but that's not because of his nationality but because his ways

so as an argie, i really don't mind cheering for a brazilian or an uruguayan at all

The fixture organisers have said it's a decision they made. Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona will all play at 3pm at least once per month now, apparently.

Yes, they're trying to increase the visibility of La Liga around the world so the timing of the big name games is an important one. Same with the early Sunday slots. La Liga doesn't make the kind of money on overseas TV rights that the PL does and they reckon this was part of the problem. Real Madrid in particular are very keen - they're hoping to get a Sunday noon kickoff for a clasico, Barca are less enthusiastic.

7 games without conceding a goal is a nice feeling. If Messi continues to remain the creative hub with Neymar and Suarez infront of him, I have no doubts we will have much better attack than last year. I am more worried defensively, and so far signs are promising.

We'll make up for that when we meet. :p

Have only watched 1 Barcelona game this season but it sounds like you're well organised.

Such a clumsy challenge by Diogo Figueiras. Raúl García scores the penalty for 3-0

Raúl Jiménez scores his first for Atlético. Set pieces as usual.

Real Madrid will get cut apart if they don't sort the midfield out, obscene amount of attacking talent, no one to protect the back four. Let Suarez and Messi at them at your own peril.

Messi is incredible. I refuse to believe there's ever been a better player. Doesn't seem possible

Pffft, 'the great Illarramendi' will silence them all.

There's one playing in the same era, let alone ever.

/can of worms

Yeah, the bastard is made of jelly it seems. We could do with a Makelele mkII right now.
Or just have kept Alonso. But then again that would have been the sensible thing to do and Perez wouldn't want that.
