La Liga - 2014/15

Neymar's done alright in the little game time he's had so far, but yes it's basically been Messi himself creating the majority of Barça's goals ánd chances in general. Don't think Busquets is overrated personally, while he might be quite specialized/limited as a whole and has been massively underperforming since 2013 IMO; on his peak form (2009-11) he was extremely good however.

Barcelona at their peak were brilliant all over though, and since teams have sussed how to play them the likes of Pique and Busquets have been exposed. Busquets is a technically good player, but he's a terrible holding mid IMO.

We just got name dropped in the Malaga-Barca game.

Absoloute borefest, Neymar and Pedro have been shit, Messi's far too deep, too slow and ponderous and they may as well be playing with 10 men with Iniesta on the pitch.

Massively pissed off I couldn't find a stream for our game instead.

You should have said so in the comments, I had a decent one on. Unless I've missed your post, then apologies!

Just switched this on. Assume I haven't missed much then.

So much for Douglas bringing some offensive quality.. hasn't produced a single cross or even a forward pass, I think.

It's been a truly dreadful game.

Was it him that hit that terrible left footed cross at the end of the half? Thought it was, but the camera panned to Pedro...

Yeah that was him. Well, if he's naturally left footed that'd at least explain the lack of attempts...

Good we got Suarez, Pedro has been absolute shit for many months now. Iniesta simply plays the safest, boring passes now without even attempting to take on anyone. Neymar still thinks he plays in Brazilian league, shows too much of ball to the opposition. Good thing the defence looks much better so far.

I think (my first time watching him...) he's right footed, just decided to cross with his left for some reason :D

No need for Busquets in games like that, Iniesta should be subbed for Xavi, Pedro needs to stay out wide and help Douglas, and their greatest ever goal scorer is being made to play further down the pitch. Absoloutely no change from when Martino was in charge, at least he tried something different (even if it failed miserably at times).

Jordi Alba looking the most likely danger provider in that 1st half, put in some good crosses. Messi not involved enough but also somewhat unlucky getting a lot of decisions against him. They don't have that many options on the bench, Adriano, Xavi, Munir and that's about it.

They're simply a poor team to watch now. I see Iniesta's taken over Xavi's role of swiveling on the ball 10 times and waiting for the opposition to get organised before playing the safe pass.

Pedro has dipped so bad since the days of that Wembley final, he was so good dunno what happened to him..

Like a few of them, he needs a new challenge somewhere else. Same goes for Pique.

Looks like players like Busquets, Iniesta and Pedro is simply playing because of their names.

Yep though I can't see them two moving on. Barca seems to be a club where the players rarely want out since they've been there for life

Barça losing almost every 2nd ball, can't see them winning this game how it's looking at the moment.

Rakitic gets the ball after that pen shout... then jogs a few yards, nonchalently passes it, before going backwards. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Suarez in this, he's already made one shit team look half decent for 8 months.

Even in that season he had a poor final few months, though obviously picked up in the final. I don't think he's ever been a great player, but he was a fantastic finisher a few years ago and that seems to have deserted him.

Think people are exaggerating here though. They've been poor but it's 1 game...

Neymar a bullet dodged. So glad we got Hazard instead, we were showing interest well before Barcelona were.

Who is the "future of Spanish football", they were just talking about him but I didn't catch his name.

He was maybe a bit underated back then I feel, he came alive in the final 3rd where as other wingers are more effective creators.

Looking at last season stats he got 15 league goals, wow never would have thought that he seems invisible in the big gamez

It may be worth mentioning once upon a time Barcelona used to look for Messi at every opportunity, and goals came (creating Messidependencia). He's been playing almost as a central mid this season, and whilst he's been involved in 75% of their goals, it's games like this where he'd pop up with an all important winner.

Perhaps Luis Enrique should be making Messi the focal point again in his best position, or at least until Suarez is in the side.

He's getting totally marked our the game atm, tean can't get the ball to him, has he even touched it this half?

What a save from Bravo. Initial reaction was that it had gone in, but somehow it's stayed out

He's dropping too deep, and play is moving away from him. That's what I mean. If you're struggling you look to your best player to get you back in the game/grab an important goal/create something. Instead it's slow and ponderdous, get it out wide, cross and hope for the best.

Real Madrid build their side around Ronaldo for a reason, see last night. Barcelona don't seem to be interested in doing it with their best player in a far less talented side these days.

Can someone tell me how Messi is better than Ronaldo at the moment?

Watch him score a hattrick now...

He has been in the previous matches, not tonight. Their entire team has been horrid, one too many passengers, Messi included actually.
