La Liga - 2014/15

Reschedule it in June? As in Barcelona playing a possible title decider in the Calderon without Messi and Neymar (Copa America duties)? Surely not.

That'd be one way to help Madrid win I suppose...

(Not a serious post, Vato ;))

Why is the "David Moyes to Real Sociedad" thread closed?

Anyway i don't understand why Sky-Sports are so negative about him for his time in Spain.
Real Sociedad were in shambles at the start of the season and they're now exactly there where they should be, Moyes needed time to adapt to all this things in a new country and the squad isn't really his squad (I will be interesting to see which player will he sign over the summer)......so i wouldn't say he has overachieved but he has done a very good job under all this circumstances.

David Moyes: Real Sociedad ‘was a gamble but it was the right time’
After the travails of Old Trafford, David Moyes feels vindicated by his move to Real Sociedad, where he has overseen a steady revival in a welcoming atmosphere

The sun is setting over San Sebastián, where David Moyes is out for an evening stroll alongside the river Urumea towards the sea as it winds through the elegant narrow streets of the old town where endless bars are piled high with pintxos, Basque-style tapas nailed to bread with cocktail sticks. “Aupa, Moyes!” people say as he passes along a route he follows often with his assistant, Billy McKinley. It is late spring, a warm light spreading across the Bay of Biscay. No wonder he is smiling.

So what was it that first attracted Moyes to the most beautiful city in Spain, the country’s culinary capital with its perfect beaches, elegant architecture, stunning scenery, international film festival and more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere in Europe? The football, of course.

Moyes joined Real Sociedad in November, eventually convinced by the persistence of the president, Jokin Aperribay. The decision was not easy for a man seeking to rebuild a reputation constructed over a decade at Everton and damaged in a matter of months at Manchester United: la Real were in the relegation zone, having won once in 10 games. But Moyes watched them beat Atlético Madrid, taking over the next day. On Saturday night they visit the Camp Nou, the risk long averted.

Imagine the scenes if Moyes stops Barcelona and puts the title effectively in Real's hands.

Spoiler dude.

Moyes-eh to do the double over Barca? Last time he nearly broke them.

Last time wasn't that much of an upset (well, it was to non-regular La Liga watchers, but really shouldn't have been given La Real's record at Anoeta against Barça since getting promoted in 2010, which read 3 wins and 2 draws before the game, so currently 4W 2D 0L); if they were to hold Barça to a draw or win at Camp Nou that would most definitely be an upset, especially considering only one side has a worse away record this season (already relegated Córdoba).

Rakitić rested today by the way. Vermaelen could get his first Barça minutes...

Oh wow Gaya has signed a new 5 year deal. Best news i heard this week since Depay. So releived. :D

Lovely pass by Messi, Neymar just couldn't get on the end of it.

No Benzema for us later against Valencia, front 3 of Cristiano, Bale and Chicharito.

Also Arbeloa and Coentrao in defense, which is a bit worrying.

Impressive performance from Moyes' Sociedad. Can't ask for much more from a team like them in a match like this, they could have had a draw here if they were lucky. The goalkeeper was brilliant for them too.

Difficult match for Barcelona but like almost always they create enough chances even if they aren't firing on all cylinders. Pedro's was a beauty in the end.

I think today was a bit of a quiet game for Barcelona some great passes and chances but maybe the impending strike is on the minds of some of the players, which should be resolved because missing off 2 of the fixtures is a bit of a joke.

Valencia should be a test for Real Madrid today.
