La Liga 2013-2014

Di Maria injury is last thing Madrid need.

Amazing that Barca might still win the title when, by their standards, they have been poor.

It would be shit if Barca manage to steal the title. Hopefully Atletico hold their nerve for the final 2 games....

True, them being poor this year has been greatly exaggerated. Tata has done a good job imo considering all the drama surrounding the club.

More chance of getting Ancelotti now, if that's what United are trying for...

Great result. Real are out of it for sure. Now only Barca to somehow manage to draw against Elche in the weekend and it will be a great end to it.

Barcelona will win the league now, they are due a win against Atletico and on the final day against a tired Atletico team they are bound to get one.

Atletico can play for a draw against Malaga now, makes no difference for them if they win or draw.

I thought how big odds for Liverpool and Atletico titles must have been at the start of season and comibined you would have got around 1500/1 easily. Now it turns out that neither of them will win it in all likelihood and pre-season favourites will.

So if Barca wins the next 2 games, do they definitely win the title?
Or does their last game, against Atletico Madrid, have to be won by a certain amount of goals?

Basically, what I'm asking is if Barca and Atletico go into the last game with only 3 points between them, and Barca manages to beat Atletico in that last game, are they definite winners?
What was the score of the reverse fixture between them 2 earlier on since La Liga is based on head to head if points are level? Just a bit confused..

That's actually a great point, hadn't considered that (only needing a draw against Málaga).

First game was a draw so Barcelona win and they'll take the title on head-to-head.

God, what a season for Atletico and Simeone and yet they may lose everything in the end. They deserve it more than Barcelona imo, but that's football.

Today's result might benefit Real Madrid. We all know there was no way Barca would win Atletico and offer the title to Real Madrid. This gives Ancelotti the chance to rest his players and prepare them for the CL final, while Atletico will have to play a second "final" a week before.

Atletico will win all their remaining matches, including the Champions League final. Suck on it Real Madrid and Barcelona.

I hope so but I don't think they will. It's going to be another Leverkusen story, almost beens.

Yes, if Barcelona beat Atletico they'll win the title. First round game was 0-0. The GD doesn't matter if one team has the advantage on head to head games.

I'd have my money on Atlético winning it from here. They've had Barcelona's number this season, still haven't beat them in 5 attempts.

It'll be a real anti-climax if one of the worst Barca sides in years snatches this title on the final day.

I'm almost 99% sure they will if they beat Elche. Some Messi miracle and it's done, Atletico won't hold them again this season.

Ancelotti did a Moyes with substitutions today. Too negative.

I think Barca will win it now.

Ancelotti will not win the league. He has Ronaldo and Di Maria injured (we do not know what length of recovery), if they lose the CL, Ancelotti will be out.

Why not? It's not like they fluked one game against them. Barca couldn't beat them in 5 games!

One of the best La Liga seasons I've watched and that's largely down to Simeone.

Also, Ancelotti has only won three leagues titles in 15 years?!
