Kylian Mbappe | PSG

Penalties

Lacazette: 11

Mbappe: 0

Not to mention Mbappe came off the bench in a lot of those appearances. Mbappe played 2635 minutes, Lacazette played 3482

There is around 1000 minutes between them and Lacazette scored around 10 penalties.

This penalties not being important needs to stop. You can’t discredit a player for being good at them, it is a good trait to have.

It is like dismissing Shearers record because of the penalties or discrediting RVN because he scored 18 for United. Ronaldo scores a lot of penalties and no one uses that when comparing him with Messi.

He hasn't been discredited, the number of penalties are mentioned for context.

Because Messi scores a bunch of them too... and yes, a lot of people still do. Mbappe simply didn't take them and we don't know how good he is at it.

Even with penalties:

Mbappe, 2635 minutes, 26 goals, 14 assists. Goal/assist every 66 minutes

Lacazette, 3482 minutes, 37 goals, 5 assists. Goal/assist every 83 minutes

So, you've never heard of Penaldo then, have you?

I admire your bad faith :)

Such things are what show how badly Mbappe is overrated. If people can laugh at suggestions that Cavani is the better player than you know the kid is ridiculously overhyped. OHBAR(Overhyped beyond any reason).

See this is the problem with posters, they go on extremes. Like I mentioned earlier Mbappe is both overrated and underrated, depending whose post one read.

Though it's clear based on this thread he's mostly overrated. The overhyping of Mbappe far outweight the underrating going on.

It's pretty clear that Mbappé is far more overrated than underrated. Not to mention it's the vast majority in this thread that goes on claims such as him being world class already, Messi level of talent than the few people that believe Rashford is as good as him.

I understand your way of thinking:

M'bappé is overhyped because he is overrated. And an overrated overhyped player is a OHBAR, especially because he isn't underrated.

France's one touch football is amazing. Such a talented side with even more talented youngsters coming through.

Favorites for this 2018 and 2022 world cup on paper anyway. The German and English youths look brilliant atm too, 2022 world cup should be a cracker. Can't say I'm too excited about this summers world cup.

18 years old and he has one of the top defenders in the world asking for his jersey. Says it all

He was really exciting to watch last night. It was good to see him side by side with Martial and to understand what makes this kid that bit better and what is missing from Martials game. He seems to combine Rashfords sheer aggression and unpredictability with the ball and yet have Martials close control and composure. Even when tightly marked, has the touch to just spin his marker and get on the run again.. was scary on the counter attack.

He wasnt even on his best yesterday, was quite average for his standards which is weird to say.

True and still you feel a surge of excitement when he has it. Refuses to take easy options when he has the ball, tries to take the attack to the opponent.

Him and Timo Werner would be my dream signings to rejuvenate Bayern's attack (nevermind add quality and depth).

His transfer fee is going to look great value soon enough. Great prospect and quality player already.

Silva got Mbappe a Ninja Turtle mask (his nickname is Donatello) Shame the mask is Michelangelo's

Outrageous error on Thiago Silva's choice of mask. Hilarious nontheless. He really does look like a ninja turtle.

10th CL goal in 15 appearances at the age of 18.

He's scored:
3 vs Dortmund
2 vs Celtic
2 vs Man City
1 vs Anderlecht
1 vs Bayern Munich
1 vs Juventus

There is a lot of great young talented attackers like Sane, Dembele, Rashford, Martial, Jesus, Asensio, Coman, Ceballos, etc. there just seems to be something about this guy, his confidence, maturity, intelligence is just on another level at the moment. While the other still need gain about of maturity and intelligence Mbappe already is head of the pack in that department. He reminds of young Messi. It'll be interesting to see how things go from here with him.

That's a ridiculous record.
Yeah. The only two teams in the CL he's played against and hasn't scored are:
Leverkusen (played just 13 minutes against them)
CSKA Moscow (played just 12 minutes against them combined over 2 appearances)

and that was at the start of last season. Once the knockout stages came and he became part of the Monaco XI he couldn't stop scoring and has carried on at PSG with an assist or a goal in every CL game so far this season.

That's incredible record for any player, even more for a 18 year old.

Ulreich made an incredible save towards the end of the match. He could have scored another. He is young but scary good already when running at players because you don't really know if he is going to go left/right or even pass the ball because that's something he is already good with the possibility of improving
