it's a mute point
Sancho & Martial for Mbappe - I'd probably do it.
Because that’s how they will sell it to him that and €700mWhy on earth would he care about helping a Saudi Arabia team win a club world cup?
Bookmarking to read later.it’s just shagging. i didn’t go into the detail, like how at the back of a sheraton hotel in saudi arabia, there’s a dimly lit room. inside, the corpse of football is being held hostage. the door opens and bin salman strides in. he hoiks his thobe to the side, revealing his chub. he groans as an arch of golden piss leaves it and splashes on the lifeless face of football. “mmm. i’ve been waiting for this all day,” he moans breathlessly as he shakes himself off. “i bought mbappe for a billion today. he’ll leave in 6 months. you like that, you piece of shit?” he grunts as he slaps the motionless side of football. “you’ll like this even less.” he says as he summoned his tumescence and started going to town on its valve.
Agree on wages but him and Rashford could definitely play in the same sideHe would be another Paul Pogba and displace Rashford. The signing makes no sense and I'm sure it would never happen anyway. If our new wage structure is to be believed there is no chance we'd sign him.
Win-win how?
Its a win from the money-perspective, but its a terrible deal for him footballing/legacy-wise, also, Euros coming up in a year.
Agreed. Also makes sense considering the supposed clubs that have enquired were leaked by PSG and seem to have been plucked randomly out of a hat.I suspect that's true, there's little chance Mbappe is moving anywhere this summer except Madrid.
Mbappe gets to move to Real next year whilst making insane money
PSG get 300m for their troubles
Saudi gets a lot of publicity and eyeballs
Real get their man for free
Relationship between Mbappe and PSG are fecked anyway, if he doesn’t move they’ll probably make him ride the bench. Might as well play football in Saudi.

Why would Saudi just give away a player they signed a year prior for 300m?

Yep, this is a sign of things to come from Newcastle. It’ll take them a few years but I can see this kind of extravagant spending in the coming years.I think the Saudi offer is all bluster, otherwise why are other clubs offering player swaps and whatnot?
However the figures are absolutely mad and it sort of gives you an idea what an established Newcastle set up is going to resemble in the next decade. As long as they keep their finances in order no-one will be touching them.
For attention to the Saudi league?
1. Why would he take a huge paycut next year? Reckon he would stay longer, if he actually takes the offer, that is.
2. Euros coming up, is he really going to play in Saudi Arabia to get into shape for that?
3. Automatically forfeits next years Ballon Dor.
4. PSG will bench him until the going gets rough, he would be back in the squad soon enough.
Yes, crazy money and all, but its a terrible decision footballing-wise, not to mention legacy-wise, at least with PSG, there was some kind of plausible deniability, "oh, he stays there at his childhood club", "he is french, he likes Paris" and so on, there is none of that if he goes to Saudi Arabia.
Players won't see it as an "actual place to go" if it's a one-year contract. One of the sports most prized assets in the country playing in their League. League gets massive media appeal and interest, other players see it as an actual place to go. It's one big advertising campaign as previously mentioned by someone.

Its not like this is his last move. He's got 5-6 years of football at the top level. One year of exile makes little difference.
Missing Balon D'Or for a year is no big deal, he'll have plenty of chances in the future.
Mbappe could play for Yeovil town and France won't drop him, he's literally their talisman they don't care where he's playing as long as he's delivering the goods. Tbh there is more chances of him being dropped by not being match fit and riding the bench at PSG than playing regular football at Saudi.
Who cares about the legacy? If he moves out of Saudi in a year, wins trophies and Ballon D`Ors its not like he'll be ranked lesser because he played in the middle east for a year? That argument could be made if Saudi wanted a multi-year contract but a year? That's nothing.
He'll have both trophies and insane money to his name. Who cares if some internet football enthusiasts think he's a money grabber.
Saudi League have no rules? So this is all legal.I hope it's translation badly gone wrong. Fecking hell 1B a year on Mbappe.
This makes City's 115 charges look amateur.
The issue here is that once guys like CR, Mbappe and the loads of decent mid-career players start moving to Saudi clubs , the idea of a player moving there from a European league in their prime would sound less crazy than it once was. Even with the limited quota of foreigners per squad, nothing stops them from "mutually agreeing" to end running contracts in order to free up space for better players as they become available, like Al Nassr did with Aboubakar when they wanted to sign CR. I just think that if the Saudi authorities are really as serious about this as they have been with other sports lately, unfortunately, they can absolutely do what the US and China failed to do in making the Saudi league an attractive destination for football players and managers. What next on the coffin of football? One of the greatest football clubs in the world being bought out and used for a national sport-washing project?I don’t think so. They’re allowed 8 foreigners per squad. How many teams? Let’s say 20. So that’s 160 foreigners. Some of those spots are already filled like stocking fillers, absolute guff. Unless you’re money mad, a player will want to protect his reputation by playing in the best competitions. Saudi is a destination for old players like US was in the 70s
True, still baffling to me. You can choose to eradicate homelessness or be Batman, but they choose to hoard more gold than they can use and underpay workers. You can say about any rich person/company.
Spurs making an enquiry!
That is so cute.
Not buying it, not for 1 year. They have Ronaldo and being viewed as a pitstop for Mbappe for a season when his intentions are obvious doesn't do that much. It would only be a statement if he went and made it his league long term.

It's funny, because this entire drama is happening because of "one more year" (the 2+1 contract that he is not activating).Yeah, thats been said for like 4 years now already, this whole "its just one more year so who cares, Mbappe is young"-thing should become a meme at this point.

He should take a 1 year in Saudi to make bank and then to Real next year for hundreds of millions. Everyone wins. Psg, Saudi, Mbappe, Real, it's just all wins.
