Kylian Mbappe | Merci.

Hate to be the cnut here, but PSG want Rashford. Mbappe coming here might not be as impossible as made out.
Rashford just signed a new contract he’s going nowhere, just a humble opinion PSG owned by Qatar who incidentally have now been proven in the United bid to also have sone overlap with QIA and 92 Foundation, in other words some of the unnamed Qatari businessman from the United bid also sit on QIA board,Hojlund, Rashford etc is there way of putting pressure on the Glazers to accept the Qatari Bid, if we are in for Mbappe in any way take it to the bank that SJ/92 Foundation are our new owners.

Personally I only see him going to Real Madrid , PSG hate City and vice versa and even more so now City won the treble, their price will be €200m, they would even sell to Madrid who PSG loathe before City!

Yep that would be awesome. The president would probably do that as well. Let him rot.

This is all a circus to get Madrid to pay a fee for him this summer and not get him on a free next summer.

Hope they force his sale to saudi even for a single season. Dont register his for the league or CL and let him know what before deadline for transfers out closes.

As long as this saga rumbles on until we sign hojlund its fine by me.

He might well sign a life contract of €1bn offered by PSG, that level of money is ludicrous.

Classic example of when a player becomes bigger than the club. PSG had this coming a while ago by basically letting him run the club.

Incredible how much power this player has. He’s a very good player but the cost and drama created simply isn’t worth it. Anyone wanting this drama Queen near United is mad. He’s precisely why PSG haven’t won the Champions League. No player is bigger than the club or manager. The fact he can make decisions on club’s transfers is mental.

So does he have to leave though?
The club might accept a bid but can't he just say no?

Did he actually send PSG a letter saying this will be his last season? If so why?

They were happy to feed his ego. This is the result.
He's not even on young Messi / CR7's level.
In a better team I think he'd be on a young CR7s level, could he kick it up a gear? Maybe but I don't know if he has that drive to be the best like CR had or the godly natural talent of Messi.

His rivalry with Haaland has barely ignited.

Wow people refusing Mbappe on the basis of « circus » when the reaction for Neymar was that it would be stupid not to get him.

I’m not a fan of Mbappe at all, but the guy is a winner and a goalscoring machine.Without him, PSG would never have gotten the results they had in CL. Same for France in the last WC.

On his situation with PSG, Nasser is having an absolute mare. They wanted him to stay so bad last summer that they offered him an unbelievable contract. It’s fully in Mbappe’s right to see out the rest of hist contract and leave on free, after 7 years at the club. He took a lot of money yes, but he gave them back on the pitch.

The club decided that now was time to be disciplined after 15 years of letting their stars get away with everything and cajoling them. The circus is created by PSG, not Mbappe.

PS: we would be more than happy if it was Tottenham and Kane in the same situation

Unless they threaten him with not giving him a single playing minute in the entirety of the following season i don't see how they could possibly persuade him to leave this window.

They have money and power. I'm sure they'll find a way to persuade him.

PSG had this coming, but Mbappe is showing his true colours.

They're literally saying we will sell you to wherever you want to go right now and he's saying no because of that stupid bonus.

I complain about Sancho comfortably taking home 350k a week pre-tax, but this is another level. As good Mbappe is, I'd hope United would never do something as stupid as offering absolute power in an Mbappe-like situation. All parties look stupid, but in the end you question why any club would hamstrung themselves like this.

Sold his soul to move to PSG when he had his pick of clubs while at Monaco.

This is what you get when you join a sports washing project in a farmers league, for money, over your career.

I recall was it two seasons ago he was going to leave and they strong armed into an extension which they paraded about online like it was some show of loyalty and not because they threatened his family/paid him £2m a week.

PSG made him into this. No other club was ever going to offer him that kind of money and power, but they did, and now they're surprised he wants to cash in.

Every club would take him but only 2 seem to be able to afford him
I think several clubs could put a package together with sales either now or next season due to FFP. The reason I wouldn't touch him is because he clearly wants to go to Madrid so I wouldn't want us to tear apart the squad to get a player who wants to be somewhere else (partly what happened to PSG).

Let him play in Madrid, win his CL and Ballon d'Or and then when he wants a new contract from them I'd be in for him. He' still young.

This is why it’s better to avoid Messi or Mbappe level talents. Which I get initially sounds mental, but they end up destroying the club financially. Look at the mess Barcelona got themselves into trying to give Messi a pay rise every year - and he was someone who loved the club and wanted to be there! Some players are bigger than the club, and they want to be paid as such.

If he leaves (I doubt it because there's barely anyone that could afford him his summer) that could have a domino effect on the market. I'm thinking specifically Real Madrid might have to sell a couple of players to fund the move, perhaps ? And rethink their forward line ?

PSG might scramble for a striker and hold a little tighter to Neymar (which honestly I would have offloaded before Mbappé) ?

I think the most likely outcome is PSG begrudgingly being embarrassed and havin him back, maybe work out a so-so deal in Winter.

Nobody really believes that. If by Sep 1st Mbappé still a PSG player, the only credible choice for them is to play him, otherwise:
  • They're paying him a huge salary for nothing
  • It may further deter future stars to sign with them

Or you could look at it that players in future won’t mess the club around and try to leave for free otherwise they’ll get the “Mbappe treatment”.

If Martial for example was refusing to leave the club after we receive a £20m (I know we xxwouldn’t get that obvs) but he said na, I’m guna see put my contract and take the £20m signing on fee for myself next summer, I’d be more than happy to let himrot in reserves and make an example of him.

This, PSG was very naive when the extended his contract with a 2+1 option he never intended to consider, but there's true disloyalty on Mbappé's end.

Mbappé's choice after he left Monaco was totally fine. He won the world cup while playing in a french club, came back to the area he grew up in, had the time to climb the ladder to be considered one of the best player in the world, had memorable performances in the CL by the age of 22, it was a good choice. The extension was a mistake though, on both ends.

The "threatening his family" part is laughable and straight up tabloid garbage from bitter Real fans.

What results in the UCL, B2B R16 exits?

The year they went to the final, Neymar was their best player.

Mbappe is already a legend for France, but he has some work to do at club level still.
