They are. And this is after it's reported that wenger is pessimistic about his signing.

Give them a rest, that's the only way they can deal with the absurdity of life and having Wenger renewing a new contract for another 2 years. I would also lose my sanity if I was an Arsenal supporter.

Their win would be that 'at least he rejected mourinho'. Even that onyekuru or whatever his name is seems to be heading to WHU

Mbappe played alongside Falcao not sure how they played (formation wise) but could we replicate that kind of partnership with Morata?

Can't say I've ever seen him play, but I've read that he's the real deal and would therefore obviously like for Liverpool to get him. The prices being tossed around are insane, though. I'm not sure it's real, but I just read yesterday, that he will cost in the excess of 100m. And that's for an 18-year old who's had one good season in France. Insanity. I know that's how it is nowadays, but still. 100m?

People should have understood the fee by now. It has nothing to do with how much he is worth, if it was he would be sold for 20m. It's just that he isn't for sale, Monaco don't want to sell but if someone want to be stupid about it they can offer a world record fee and see what happens.

From the little I've seen he seems to play off the left off the main striker doesn't he? Either way he's more of a roaming/left forward rather than a centre forward. He'd compete with martial, Mkhitarian and Rashford (when he's not playing as a 9).

There is only one of two outcomes in terms of Mbappe this season...

1. He'll go to Real.
2. He'll stay with Monaco.

Pretty much this. PSG have been linked with him as well, but for some reason I can't see it happening. It'd be a sideways move.

No, he plays on the left with Germain and on the right with Falcao.

I suppose, and kind of hope, you're right. I can't really imagine anyone paying that kind of money for an 18-year old. He should stay in Monaco for at least one more season anyways.

Looks like he's bound for Real if he leaves Monaco from this, could be good for us though as Benzema is undroppable because of his link up play with Ronaldo who's also undroppable and Mbappe at £100 million will start so could mean Bale leaves.

Cheers buddy

If that interview is legit, then it seems like a massive wink to Real. (there's so much fake news out there nowadays though).
No other club is as obsessed with winning the CL as they are, and they are certainly far more likely to win it than the likes of PSG and Man City.

Madrid trying to reduce the asking price of €135m but Man Utd and PSG making it difficult.

 We should do this with all major club targets just to make them pay up more! An 80m bid for Veratti, a 60m bid for Sanchez and so on.

In all seriousness, I actually don't know why we don't price rivals out of players, especially league rivals. We don't even have to buy them, just cultivate the appearance of doing so.

Because down the roads it will empty our own pockets. We should go hard on the players we really want and leave it at that.

Problem is if they call your bluff and then you suddenly are faced with having won the auction for a player you might actually not really want. If you then don't buy them, agents and clubs will be miffed and the tactic will not work out so well in the future.

Clubs and Agents already use us for that.

You lose credibility doing that. If you're bidding for a player,it has to be with the intention of signing them

When he says PSG and United are being difficult it's regarding the sales of James and Morata.

There's actually some Liverpool fans getting happy over the Mbappe rumours :lol:

For this summer, this is the order of teams with a chance of keeping/getting him:
1. Monaco
2. Madrid
3. United
4. PSG
5. Chelsea
6. Arsenal
.
.
.
999. Liverpool.

I am wonder if Mbappe has ever heard of Liverpool. He wasn't even born when they last won anything consistently.

Klopp is reportedly going all-out in enticing Mbappe by making alleged promises to build the team around him. I've gotta say, I'm a big fan of the kid as I've mentioned repeatedly, but I've never seen this form of courtship and figures thrown around for an 18-year old ever. I think he'll be world-class, but they're acting as if he's an 18 yrs old Messi in his prime. I think he'll deliver on the hype, but I don't think he's going to manage it at 19 years old. I think he'll truly be world-class in 3 years and by then he'll only be 21 (I'm pretty good at math).

Haha love the way he's dashed Arsenal hopes (what 0.001% chance they had anyway). CL footy only

Because that's our job.

. 998 Liverpool

Fixed. And yes I do think we would have a better chance than Arsenal but no I don't expect anyone other than the top two mentioned to have him next season.

the money for this kid is absolutely crazy.
he looks a very talented player with a big future but hanging that kind of price around his neck and dropping him into a side like real could very well do him a lot more harm than good. the expectation will be massive and i very much doubt he'll be able to play his natural game with the monster that is ronaldo dominating the attacking play. if he thinks he's gonna go there and play number 9 he's very seriously mistaken, everyone at real panders first and foremost to ronaldo (and rightfully so btw he's a goal scoring freak) Mbappe will be expected to do the same. can he out do morata's 20 goals from a support position? i doubt it. will he bench benzema or bale? i doubt that too. its a signing that smacks of madrid ego-massaging rather than a sporting one and the player will be the one to suffer ultimately
he's just a boy, he should be staying at monaco for at least 2 seasons imo, as should all their other young stars, the way the game is going in its treatment of young talent is concerning imho but maybe i'm just getting old.

If Mbappe is worth/cost £123million, how much is Rashford worth in his 1st season?

And this is why the prices have rocketed the way they have. One club starts by paying silly money for a player they want and then it becomes a case of "well if he was worth that much then our player must be worth even more. it has always been the case but i think it really started to escalate when City signed Robinho

tbf. I think United is the primary culprit -- we have been doing it for decades. We created and are playing a price war which eventually will exclude many clubs other than the superclubs.
