Man i wasn't talking about questionable transfer policies, i was rebuffing the assertion that barcelona don't pay huge money for their players

That wasn't the point being made. I believe FCBarca was refuting a suggestion that they were a club that paid the most. That is quite different from not paying huge sums. How many world transfer fees have Barca broke in comparison to Madrid? Madrid started this whole ridiculous transfer fee circus -pledging money they didn't have- during their Galactico era, and then took it on yet again paying WR fees for Kaka, Ronaldo and Bale. When you keep on raising the bar, others have no choice but to follow suit, as we are witnessing right now.

When i consider PSG's recent activity, it is far more reminiscent of Real Madrid's transfer activity, than Barcelona's. Just saying. ;)

Don't think he will go to PSG, what does it achieve? They are already guaranteed to win the league and so it's all about the Champions League which I still don't think they would win.

Only reason he might go there is if no one is willing to offer the asking price.

Why does this football malarkey between fans turn into a dick measuring contest most of the time? It's fecking sad tbh.

Normally you'd need a comparator, Neymar took less to come to Barcleona.

Neymar senior took 40 mil € directly into his pocket for his son to come to Barca.

Florentino wanted to have none of that and here we are today.

You're insulting the intelligence of everyone on this board by using Neymar as an example of everything that is not a criminal activity.

Normally you'd need a comparator, Neymar took less to come to Barcleona. Did he take less to go to QSG? You have some flaws in your logic

You are talking rubbish. It was mentioned on Sky Sports that in the last 7 years Barcelona have spent more than Real Madrid on transfers. £75m for Suarez, the transfer for Neymar now looks like £90m. Before this Ibrahimovic for basically £70m with the Eto'o swap deal. Even that Ukrainian defender was £18m which you sold back to Donetsk at a huge loss (back then) a year later.

You had a generation of youth players come through that won you many titles but there were many expensive bad signings purchased along the way. This never got spoken about by the media because these players never displaced the core youth players that developed into the first team.

The guy threw a strop, where he was the guilty party and stood still on the pitch where the team was training and wouldn't budge, forcing the team to move to a different pitch to train.

18, there are reasons to feel aggrieved. This type of behaviour does not fly.
Part of a media campain to make Mbappé look like the bad guy according to Paris United.

Why would the media do that when they are licking PSG's arse 24/7? PSG united is a fraud by the way.

Skewed due to having the GOAT & best striker in world football, still no galactico policy. Players who are attracted to Barcelona come here and even take less money as we saw with both Neymar & Alexis Sanchez.
Both of those happen to be the same person playing for Real?

You must have missed PSG and L'Equipe being at war last season. Yes they write about Paris very often but it includes a lot of unsubstanciated negative stuff. Verratti had to press charges to make them cut their lying and apologize.

Come on, don't be that guy. They weren't at war, a journo said that Verratti(and Matuidi) was in a nighclub 2 days before the game. Conversely they have been on the back of Monaco regarding the taxes and later on the back of Jardim and it lasted a few years. PSG fans are a big precious.

Now, the entire country laughed at the 6-1 but it was just a bit of fun.

7 years happens to be the exact tenure of this board, a board that has reversed the course of the club

Definitely, Flo is an up standing guy who would never commit fraudulent activities

Yes they were, l'Equipe has been stirring shit up within PSG the whole season, printing every tabloid-like story they could find. As a retaliation PSG cut all their privileges, no more briefings or interviews, and in turn l'Equipe hardened their line further. The pre match treatment of the Barca second leg was worthy of a Catalan mouthpiece.

They seemingly have come to a truce with exclusive interviews allowed again but Hermant and Degorre, the two journos following PSG full time are still notorious PSG haters.

Paris United are not perfect but still better than most journos following PSG.

All sounds good except Barcelona was never one of the clubs that paid the most, their draw had less to do with money but history & style - things money can't buy ;)
Your wagebill is enough to blow PSG buying Neymar every season for the next 15 decades. Get outta here with that Liverpudian BS

Because people would love to show their dicks if they had huge ones, as that's pretty rare then talking about how much better your football team is than the rest becomes the second best thing to boast around.

It's kinda sad entering the Mbappe thread to read about the Barça vs Real and Messi vs CR rivalry yet once again, I just wanted to know something about this guy

L'Équipe is a disgrace, they criticized Bielsa for not being present at Lilles a few weeks before the start of the season whereas his mother passed away and he had to go.

They repeat what those journos say, they pretend to have itk info by confirming publicized informations. They are as bad as Monaco's new ITK, I can't remember his name.

PS: I don't like Lequipe because they are biased and will stir shit but PSG aren't really in their bad books, you are just experiencing what most clubs have experienced.

@FCBarca has gone full on conspiracy theorist in this thread. Barca fans arent having a good summer at all

Theyre going to become the new Liverpool once Messi leaves. One club la'

It's true that most French fans seem unhappy about how their club is treated by l'Equipe and PSG is no exception but it was especially bad last year.

We could use a pro PSG paper as Le Parisien isn't even doing that anymore.

82-83
, 86-87,88-89, 89-90. 90-91, 91-92, 93-94, 96-97, 97-98.

We were Real Madrid before being Real Madrid was cool, Barça fans have no moral superiority over any other club in the world, and specially not in splashing money to get players, we've done that for decades.

PSG breaking the record fee for Neymar and getting Mbappe in the same window is not something unseen, we did it in 1982! We destroyed the world record AND managed to sign 6 of the top 10 most expensive players the same window, even the Pope talked about how we were doing some crazy thing.

So, PSG might be using some shady moves to pull their transfers outside the FFP legality and being backed by a huge country, but philosphy wise? No top 10 team in Europe has grounds to feel superior and being cheated. When Mbappe joins PSG, I don't get why someone should moan about money

 excellent. Can you find the quote from the Pope?!

5 to 3 actually(figo-zidane-kaka-cristiano-bale vs cruyff-maradona-ronaldo). Historically it wasn't until perez that we started outspending barcelona on transfers, and we only matched them in the 50s and 60s. And other than the brief period of the first galactico era, we pretty much never outspent them on wages

It kinda irks me to see a self-proclaimed barcelona fan discard the first 95 years of the club's history

Can we get back on topic? The last two pages have been a pissing contest between Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Neymar. This is the Kylian Mbappe thread, keep on topic.

So, Mbappe to PSG seems to be a lock. Almost. There's little doubt that they will steamroll Ligue 1 with that strike force. But how are they going to do against top level CL opposition? That's the big question here.

I'm not convinced about all this talk of Mbappé 'dooming' himself to being at PSG for the rest of his career simply because they apparently never let players go that they want to keep.

It seems very focused on the whole Verratti story, which isn't really a great example because the guy kept signing a new contract every other year, if not every year.

If Mbappé wants to leave PSG in a few years, he just shouldn't sign a new contract. I don't care what kind of consequences there are, even if he's in the stands for a whole season, he's the one who decides to sign that piece of paper and no one is forcing him. In fact, I would argue that in such a situation, both PSG and Mbappé are doing the right thing. The club isn't bending over like most clubs do to sell a player, which is quite refreshing, and the player isn't committing himself to something out of fear. Yeah, there are risks in terms of injury and all that, but show me somewhere in life where there's no risk and high reward.

All I know is if he goes, I don't think I will ever watch a Ligue 1 game unless Monaco somehow make a great run.

It's based on the strange premise that Mbappé would necessarily want to leave after a few years. It's obvious that if he signs for Paris among all the offers he is ready to commit his future here and not in another club.

By the way it is difficult to leave any big club. Coutinho isn't getting his move despite good money being offered while Sanchez and Ozil may have to see out their contracts to be released by Arsenal.

I think he will still stay at Monaco. He will be convinced to stay for one more year.

Yes, Alexis and Ozil are doing the right thing. They'll be free next summer and not tied forever to Arsenal. That's my point.

I think he must be frustrated that his "dream" club Real Madrid isn't that interested in him after all. Not for the fees quoted anyway.

His "dream club". You mean PSG?

And rightly so. His attitude seems awful and they've already got young talent like Asensio who's probably going to be a better player than him anyway. Good on Madrid for not paying the sort of ridiculous fee only PSG would pay.

No way man. Contract is up in 2019. This is the last chance for Monaco to truly cash in, which is why they'll even accept the loan+obligation to buy deal
