Kyle Walker | The Flash

How the feck is he still so fast

He's probably the best man to man defender of the last decade. 1v1 with open space to defend, I don't know if there's anyone else you'd want in that scenario.

You could argue he's one of England and Manchester City's most important players last 5 years, one of the only players in the world you can generally rely on to cancel out the likes of Mbappé and Vinicius.

no disrespect to him but I'll be quite glad when he fecks off from city

Rashford has a great scoring record against them. Imagine what it would be if he had never signed for them. It feels like Rashford gets clear in behind them at least twice per derby only to get caught by Walker.

Worth mentioning he cost City for the opener today. He's got a bad habit for ruining the offside trap.

Quoting myself but worth mentioning just how bad he was for the Mainoo goal.

His mistakes get glossed over so much because of his recovery pace. He's far from the player he once was.

Hes a cheat code at times. It really allows City to be as adventurous as they are. Rashford would absolutely kill them every time we play them if he wasn't on the pitch.

What's all the more curious is why the opposition doesn't play their fastest wide player on the other side against Gvardiol instead of Walker.

It's a no brainer, but no one ever does it.

To be fair, we sort of did play out most direct wide threat against Gvardiol and he, very helpfully and kindly, rewarded his pressure with a free goal.

City have been good at lining up replacements, who'll be taking over Walker and KDB? Any homegrown players or are they linked to anyone?

I don't know why the fuss, he's fast is about as useful he can be. I can beat him in a 100m race I reckon during which I'd be riding my motorbike

It’ll be Frimpong and Wirtz, they’ll have identified replacements already, City don’t wait until the last minute like us to figure out how to replace players. Frimpong is another rapid FB.

He was shite for both goals.

He's like a forward who's only good at running in behind, as soon as he has to do some actual defending that requires brains and positioning and not just chasing someone down he's not really very good at it.

He has to be on steroids. 34 next week and he’s still the fastest player in the league.
I don’t think he is to be fair anymore, people just can’t get their head around Rashford’s pace declining, he was getting matched by most full backs this season. He’s 34, even being genetically gifted and on peds he wouldn’t be the fastest in the league.

And Rashford is that forward who is only good at running in behind, which is why they both cancelled each other out.

In City's system he's effective because most attacks don't reach the defence, they are most vulnerable to counter attacks and nobody in the league can beat him for pace there.

No need to rewrite history

Has had a mixed season, and at his worst can be brainless, but at his best has shut down the best wingers in the world on that flank who bring more than pure pace to the table, while also being functional in City's attack.

His head was on fecking Mars when Martinez was slowly walking off the pitch and I'm all for it, the bellend.

That being said, very respectful interview there. I imagine he's directly talking about Maguire, but still nice words in general.

He gets away with so much shit on the pitch its crazy. Niggly fouls not called, clear yellow cards not given, the refs treat him like royalty for whatever reason.
