He definitely needs to keep it simpler and speed up his movement and decision making, he’s to slow on the ball a lot of the time.

Cowardly performance from him today (and for much of the season). Needs to be brave and take control of the game, rather than cower into the background.

Is it still blasphemy to criticize his performances without giving excuses? He’s a real liability off the ball and even on it to a degree.

We get it, bro. You can take a player on in midfield.

Needs to pass the ball quicker, and ideally more than 8 yards.

His lack of pace/mobility is going to really limit how good he can become. Young players do have dips of course and he can still be a good player but I think do have to reevaluate how good he actually is/will be.

He has a lot of qualities but that doesn't necessarily mean you're effective. He shouldn't be a first choice player yet but we are light on options.

He needs to be closer to the goal with two midfielders behind him, that has been true since his introduction into the starting lineup.

I’m starting to think he doesn’t have the athleticism to be a PL midfielder. Maybe he can work on it, but he just seems way too ‘heavy’ in that midfield. He’s similar to Eriksen in his mobility but more than a decade younger.

Also, I’m starting to really dislike his laid back approach. He plays like it’s a game of street footie with his mates. All the talent in the world, but wants to be too clever all the time.

The last few games has really changed my view on him.

Not even had one good game this season even though people tried to pretend otherwise with the first two.

I don’t see it in him. Never have. Sure he can dribble and make good short passes, but that’s about it. We’re so starving for decent midfielders we forgot what one looks like.

No matter the area on the pitch or situation he finds himself in, his first thought is to dribble and it’s become so fecking predictable because opponents know this and anticipate which leads to loose touches or being dispossessed.

This season, off the ball he’s been as bad as any midfielder I’ve seen for us. He’s unbelievably slow off the ball both in actions and in reactions. Last season he was leggy off the ball too but often found himself in the right place to make key interceptions and blocks. This season he has been so bad.

Very lazy and casual on the ball. Not sure if he thinks that he has already made it. Very frustrating.

Talented player, but has an obvious lack of high-end athleticism.

Which might be something he overcomes in the long run, but is a problem in the medium term if we're relying on him.

He is not a CM... He never does any vertical passes or any type of balls to switch sides.. He should either start doing that or be sold because that money could be invested in like 2-3 actual players who could play CM at a high PL level..

We can’t dress it up he’s been garbage this season. He’s young though and clearly has ability, he just needs to find that form from last reason again. His lack of athleticism is a concern though, especially playing in the middle of the park in the premier league.

Push him up to no 10 or bench him. Simple as that. He would be so much better in the no 10 role but he's not suited to be one of the 8s.

The most annoying thing about things like this is it can be fixed with one conversation from the manager.

"Kobbie, start passing the ball early and keep it simple. Stop dribbling in dangerous areas. If you don't follow that you won't start. Cheers."

This reminds me of when we let Fred shoot from 30 yards on his week foot every game and no one thought to tell him to fecking stop it.

It feels like we just indulge players and let them do whatever they like and wonder why we're disjointed mess on the pitch.

Lack of athleticism but also a lack of focus and discipline. Trying silly flicks that cost us goals is not something he should be learning from Bruno.

Mainoo was a non entity. He hasn't developed his game as a cm at all. Quick feet and dribbling ability, but his movement and positioning as cm is so poor.

Try him as no 10 or bench.

His weaknesses that people mentioned last season, that he should improve one, are being exposed more this season. Injuries have curtailed development but for now he's really struggling to have any impact in an important midfield role. It's even more important considering we don't have anyone else who can control the pace from the middle.

His lack of athleticism is shockingly apparent. There was a moment in the first half where a reverse ball was played into him to run onto in midfied with all the space in the world and he somehow lost out to a Bournemouth player, looked like he was running in treacle.

Still has the best feet in the team other than Amad and pairs fine with Ugarte, but he needs to find the ball more and be braver with it passing-wise.

Today he overcomplicated so much, partially at fault for the third goal (or was it the second?)

Reading that a lot recently about Mainoo as a 10 and I just don't see it, not enough intensity in his movement.

He is best suited to a 3 man midfield where he can knit things together, with partners who cover his lack of passing range and running power limitations.

A well run club would sell him now while he still has good value, Manchester United however will keep hold of this guy for the next five years and then scrape 12 mill at best from an Italian team

I think his poor passing is the biggest problem. I think he over dribbles because he knows he doesn't have a reliable pass on him - especially anything more than 15 yards

Awful today. He was replacing Ugarte on the pitch after he went off, what was that lack of fight? Getting comfortable pulling out of duels, no intensity and getting poor in distribution if it wasn't passing backwards. That action for the 3rd goal should never happen, he needs to be spoken to. I hope he's not getting too comfortable and thinking he has made it already.

He's just not creative enough too. He hasn't shown any real creativity or goal scoring instincts to move him to a position that demands production in goals or assist.

His inability to play progressive passes and keep hold of the ball are a concern when he is pretty poor defensively.

He must keep it simple by not trying to force play and dribbles unnecessarily.
