He definitely needs to keep it simpler and speed up his movement and decision making, he’s to slow on the ball a lot of the time.
WrongHas to start from now on. I have no idea why Amorim didn't fancy him vs City or Spurs but we're clearly better with him in the team.
Not his best game today. I thought he suffered from Ugarte coming off. He shouldn't be our deepest midfielder even when we're chasing a game in my opinion.Wrong
The most annoying thing about things like this is it can be fixed with one conversation from the manager. No matter the area on the pitch or situation he finds himself in, his first thought is to dribble and it’s become so fecking predictable because opponents know this and anticipate which leads to loose touches or being dispossessed.
Lack of athleticism but also a lack of focus and discipline. Trying silly flicks that cost us goals is not something he should be learning from Bruno.Talented player, but has an obvious lack of high-end athleticism.
Which might be something he overcomes in the long run, but is a problem in the medium term if we're relying on him.
Ugarte was on a yellowThought he was shit today. Madness subbing Ugarte instead of him.
No thanks to Mainoo. He left Ugarte exposed all game. Not his best game today. I thought he suffered from Ugarte coming off. He shouldn't be our deepest midfielder even when we're chasing a game in my opinion.
Push him up to no 10 or bench him. Simple as that. He would be so much better in the no 10 role but he's not suited to be one of the 8s.
Reading that a lot recently about Mainoo as a 10 and I just don't see it, not enough intensity in his movement.
He is best suited to a 3 man midfield where he can knit things together, with partners who cover his lack of passing range and running power limitations.
